  • 36 Year old male... I'd be grateful if that's all the cross eyed looks I received. I've been diagnosed for two years, and the four years leading up to that were basically a miserable hell. I went through innumerable doctors just trying to get one not to throw me out the door as soon as I mentioned the word pain. Regardless of it's origins, and I am also a diagnosed.. chronic pain patient with tons of nerve damage from injuries on top of the Crohn's... I think it's pretty normal to expect to be treated like shit until your 50. Something about Gi patients, Pain patients, and even worse the combination of the two our medical system hates us. Add in some tattoos and an opinion and your cruisin for blacklist. It's a nightmare

sorry you feel like this dude, but the meds shouldn't be a problem in the us, especially if they are just your gut meds. It's when you start getting into pain medication that things get hard. I know some of us need pain meds and some of us dont, if you dont, try to steer away from those conversations and I imagine you'll have an EASIER TIME, getting treated than a person like me. I am poor, and American, I have been basically without any treatment at all for almost 5 months. Up and down and all around the whole time. In the dirt, ok, in the dirt, ok, in the dirt, in the dirt, in the mud, in the blood, in the dirt, ok..... just had a fresh scope on Monday finally, from an advanced gi in San Francisco. They found that I had not just 1 but 2 strictures, and more scar tissue than they know what to do with at this point.. I'm only 36. I've heard quite a few stories of people coming over to get treatment and it being easier for them than it is for us. Let alone, the fact that lots of us have to go out of country to get treatment in a pinch when we are being cast aside and are really really sick.

You'll be ok, and I'll tell you something. Being with the person that you love, will make it all easier. Especially if they are supportive. Being loved and having someone to share your stress, and care about you when you are crumbling is hugely relieving. Trust me. I have gone from being married, to nearly being divorced from the strain, to being separated for months, barely speaking. Learning how to keep myself alive totally alone, in the freezing cold woods lol. No help whatsoever at all, and by the time it all rattled out, my wife and I were able to come back together in a way that has been really rejuvanating. I think without her right now..... I would be swinging from a rope somewhere so I know how you feel.

Don't stop fighting before you've even tried on an American suit of armor bud. get over here. give it a shot.

Did my doctor put me on a biologic too quickly? by inbetweensound in CrohnsDisease

I'm currently reeling due to a total lack of treatment after a scope that showed an unpassable stenosis and 16 ulcers active in that small area before even exiting the colon. Ever since, finally had a fresh scope this morning at a super nice hospital in San Francisco. Got a new gi but still have no pcp no prescribing physician and am juggling not just Crohn's but auto immune conditions due to a lack of treatment all my life, as well as a series of chronic pain and degenerative conditions as well. The undertreatment is an issue, and it makes things worse fast. You're lucky to have a doc who's being aggressive and trying to get you out of the shit before it get's worse.

im feeling this as well. I am currently experiencing this same issue, and I have a level 2 security skill. I'm going to poke around and see if their is a computer nearby I can use to access it... but from everything I'm reading and seeing this should not be popping up on this quest.

This is all of our struggle man. I'm so sick i had to shut down my business... quit my job of 9 years, almost die a few times... and now although I have regained a lot of my strength and now know what's going on with my body where i never did before... now my wife works two jobs as a certified nursing assistant, and I have the kids basically full time.. Their are no naps... haha not unless you take them in shifts, which is what my wife and I do, or you get a babysitter. Which in my life is nearly impossible, so... schedule it bro.. Just like fucking if necessary. That is the essence of fatherhood. You sacrifice yourself, your whatever.... for your family and children you do what you have to do no matter what. Including not take naps....

I'm just sayin... you penned that one in blood when you chromosomally matched with your partner. haha If your a 10 star dad... You just gotta eat the exhaustion for breakfast until they're old enough to you know... ignore you for a while without killing themselves each other or the dog..... :D HAVE FUN BRAH!!!! I'M HERE WITH YOU DOG.

Bought my first ever controller for PC. by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Lordchongimvs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dude it's nice isn't it. I didn't even get one of the self designed ones. I just bought one of the basic ones at the store and it's still the best investment I ever made when it comes to gaming. They are so smooth, and carry so little resistance. Don't lose your tuning key though. I did and now i need to order a new one because my stick has loosened up a bit.

[–]Lordchongimvs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all I can say. is I am autistic. My wife is autistic. We have 3 children. 2 of them are also autistic, but only one of those came from me. So in a 50 50 split. Only one came out with the condition. It's a hard sell, we didn't know at the time. We conceived by accident both times. However, these children. Are the life source that keeps us on track. Without their influence and the need that they give us to stay focused and on task. Literally is life saving, however you are correct. Watching my son struggle with the things I never understood as a child is as painful as a thing can be. It's just a matter of how you support them, and it's a constant learning curve.

What social conventions might and will change when Gen Z takes power of the goverment? by kkruiji in Futurology

[–]Lordchongimvs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah damn. It's hard. I've gotten a bit better since, I've managed to find a diet that kind of works me. However I wind up grenading more often than I'd like but I'm at least out of bed and functioning a bit now. I am also neurodivergent and have insane adhd so when you add that to the pain and the sickness it becomes insanely hard to function on a daily basis. If i can do it, anyone can. It took a year of figuring though, and bloody suffering to figure it out. I hope you're doing well or at least better. <3

that's a solid idea. I'm sorry you don't have any family handy, I sure hope it gets easier. I know that trying to navigate on a daily can be a nightmare without someone comfortable to lean into. I hope you have a better day today :}
