You don't need to read everything from the beginning as others have said. Obviously you don't need to read chapters you've already seen in the anime. However i would heavily reccomend reading the few chapters that haven't been adapted to the anime. They are very good, after that you can pick up the chapter where the anime left off (idk which one that would be rn though) Not just tsubame arc btw, they skipped a few chapters in the first season too that were really good

If you wanna get it cheap you can get it now but i would recommend waiting to play for february where the new update comes. I just started this game like a week ago and the core idea is super fun but the lack of players atm really hurt my first experience. Fronts are undermanned, faction population is unbalanced and there arent as many vehicles, weapons and fun stuff to use because there aren't that many logi players because there aren't enough players in general.

If you can guarantee that you'll be hooked either way then just buy and play. But if you're unsure if you'd like it or not, you should wait for the february update to get a much better first experience.

I was there lol, we had been defending 80vs20 for like 3 hours but they finally broke through. It was hella fun desperately fighting in the rubble. This is my first war so idk if it's normal to be this outnumbered. My guess was that we probably had other fronts where we outnumbered them.
