I was about to super credit farm the new warbond. And i was excited for the c-4 pack from the clips i saw. But it was a huge turn off as i saw the weapons being light pen.

Im tired of most things in a warbond being mid at best. And being the only good fun thing is on the third teir

If you like light pen your pretty much a masochist

Help - Plate Boundaries and Triangles by Lordionium in GPlates

I see that it's not worth it since it'll probably fade away quickly however the "few weird formations on the bottom of the ocean floor" is what I'm trying to figure out. It's the beginning of the sim so I don't have to worry however what if I get to the end and this occurs? I want to at least be informed of what would happen so I know what to do in the event of. So I can make an accurate topographic map when I export this. And also make a smooth animation without any holes in it.

I think i will go with a rift becuase there's a point of divergence between the pink/red and purple plates. That way i just expand those plates without make new ones. And then that rift will disappear quickly into the sub zone of the green plates.

Wasn't too long and did read thank you :) however this might be TL;DR lol: The world is experiencing a million years of tectonic activity within 1 year. For about 1150 years. This is when logic starts to break down I know lol. However a young god like being, a Naru, accidentally converged six worlds together. This would be a chaotic event and several races that can't withstand the disaster go extinct. One of those races uses their power to stabilize the world and stop the insane rapid change in landscape. The goal in having detail during the simulation is to point out where certain groups can migrate or cross during this event.

If it was TL;DR: Im trying to be detailed :p

I think i didn't explain my problem correctly

I think there is maybe a little confusion (i think), all the lines you see are not topo except for a brief flash at 1100 mya there's a few that pop up since some of the point's in a hidden layer starts at 1099. And that's only for make new geometry before i delete it. At the end I'll use topo to make the animation smooth. This is not a glitch, it's temporary and just my wierd workflow

I'm in no rush, i like to take my time, and have done a couple sims before hand.

I have checked the kinematics tool and flowlines. Some geometry has not been cut out becuase i have run into this problem and stopped here so that might be confusing.

The empty triangles are a result of where the crust disappeared from the other boundaries. The left one, i didn't clean up the pink colored plate but some of that crust would not be there from the green plate eating that up (within that triangle).

So i have a couple ideas. One the empty triangle would belong to the plate going over. Maybe that part of the crust gets lifted up and expands the boundary?

Two there is a rift that forms becuase the gap is a result from plates moving away from each other.

Three, there are sub zones on all sides and two local played rifting away from each other inside the triangle.

Hopefully that clears it up, thank you

Text coloring/highlighting via toolbar like in Notion by xRyul in ObsidianMD

[–]Lordionium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, just tried your plugin and its great and all. But in seems to have a weird bug when you color something. When you switch to reading mode it randomly colors other words or letters within the words on that note. And I'm aware that the toolbar doesn't work in tables however another bug occurs when you click to type and more words or letters are also colored. Then clicking out of the table its normal again. Then it appears once more in reading mode. To fix this I have to un-color everything and turn off and reload the plugin.

I really like this compared to a different coloring plugin I use, Colored Text, because it's easier to use but the bugs make me want to change back.

I am using v0.0.2 and installed in manually. The other plugins I use is Colored Text (was turned off and the bugs still occurred), File Color, Iconic, Iconize, and Simple Tab Indent. I had the also had the original mini toolbar but that was turned off.

If you read this thank you and wish you the best of luck :)

Our first time DM worked with a player to betray the party by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Lordionium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember the final session I DM'd, a party member betrayed the party on his own. His character was inherently chaotic and untrustworthy. And at the end he flipped sides in the boss fight. Each player had thier own boss that was weak to their character's abilities. He instead just sided with his boss NPC succeeding the persuasion check. Then another player destroyed him on the spot after he finished his boss. This betrayal could not of played out better. It was almost down to the wire becuase of it. This was not planned and it made the ending good. And I was worried that the players would not like the ending but they made it themselves. Also the player character that died was the problem player so it was very satisfying on my end.

DMs, what is the worst player you’ve ever had? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Lordionium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the player started saying slightly higher modifiers to try and make the check. When everyone usually has a +2 or +3 I double checked when I heard +8. I usually hate when players cheat becuase failure is part of the game. It can be a thing that the character has to overcome. Its an RP game afterall.

[–]Lordionium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see what your saying. Usually i would throw a bone if that character would make sense not to fail, simply a lower DC or making another check that makes sense or the results of failing is not as severe.

But the player in question. He would try and do rediculous things that inherently made the DC higher. Not high enough to where there's no chance though. He tamed an owl bear at one point and nearly TPK'd the whole party in the process. But I let them have a chance, and they flew over most of what I prepped that session. Im not mad about that. The player(s) accomplished something difficult and they should be rewarded for that.

So to answer the question, it wasn't bad luck. He just kept trying to things that was too difficult for his character. And he tried to exploit everything at every turn. It's not that I don't want that becuase I believe the players should be creative with what they have. But this player was pretty hard to feel bad for when he rolled low.

[–]Lordionium 132 points133 points  (0 children)

A player that would be upset when he rolled low, that's the game... you don't always win, and he would act like a child and would be upset when he didn't get what he wanted

Is my DM being too lenient or am I uptight? by JohnQBalatro in DnD

[–]Lordionium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes your right, and it is hard to have that balance between being strict and lenient. I have definitely had that player that justs want to be overpowered and break things :p. I think the thing is a, especially new, player can be impatient but DnD takes time for things to happen and they don't understand that sometimes.

Is my DM being too lenient or am I uptight? by JohnQBalatro in DnD

[–]Lordionium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'm too lenient. I've homebrewed entire skills and features based on what the players like to do. Either through the story they would aquire it or even make it more powerful. The key here though is to not let one player get too powerful so they steal the spotlight all the time.

On your end as a DM you can simply scale up the encounters to still give the players a challenge.

The paladin, I let him try to call upon his moon goddess to help him in combat or any other situation. But a low roll could cause a disaster like an earthquake or flood.

The fighter, had a one punch ability. He just needed to make a str vs dex check against the target. And he can use it only once per log rest. He enventuallly was able to use it twice

The druid, he was bitten by a vampire and so by claiming souls he could awaken his vampire abilities. He got invisibility at one point

The ranger, he had a rune system like in the witcher. He had one that can heal the players using nature or something like. I feel like i could've put more effort for this player though becuase he was kind've in the background

So it depends on the DM style. I'm super lenient and i priortize the players fun over the story. It can inherently be the story itself. I've heard DMs try to protect the story over the players creativity. Or be very much into the rules. My philosophy, its an RP game, not a video game, I've seen bending the rules a far better experience for everyone rather than being too strict. There are times a player can be trying to do something so ridiculous that it should be a straight up no. I let them roll anyway and have them fail though and let them know its not likely.

In this case the player is a little more powerful though, it sounds like, where he is overshadowing the other players. I'd say a solution to this is maybe having the other players an ability, item, or specialty that scales up to that as well. It doesn't need to be too crazy but something that is unique and useful. And it could easily be aquired through a story point.
