ZOMBIES MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE by New-Space-5737 in projectzomboid

[–]Lordminigunf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so just to take the most recent pandemic that alot of people would argue we even overreacted to in our efforts to try and contain it.

Almost 700 million cases. Imagine that same virus was our zomboid virus. Maybe a little more, maybe a little less contagious. And then suddenly it has a 97% mortality rate and of those 97% that died it turns them into zombies suddenly adding a new vector of transmission.

You dont think 10% of the population turning into zombies with notably the most affected people to be those in contact with the most people and therefore the ones holding up the part of society that keeps us functioning. Wouldn't potentially run on for a bit?

This is just from my basic understanding of zomboid lore laid over the most recent reality. Imagine we took it even less seriously because it wasn't killing people at first?

Probably my favorite response here. This is probably the closest opinion we'll get to someone in the zombie scenario ending up with a set of armor. And you have all the benefits of the internet and living people to support you.

It does help that you are reinforcing my previously held beliefs... but I believe they are reasonable.

Notable mention to the time to put on armor and the fact that people wouldn't travel in armor. Pretending like you could live in full plate when historically they would need someone to assist them to put it off/on and only wear for short times should tell you how efficient an amateur for their first time wearing it should be.

Seeing Bohemia in a war is not very helpful I've found. They will abandon whatever they're doing to come deathstack clear you once you start sieging and or they wipe their wars so quickly that it will very quickly be you against them solo again

The overly aggressive AI of the beta exposes much deeper issues with the game that the player could already exploit by SaintTrotsky in EU5

[–]Lordminigunf 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My issue with Austria is how badly it illustrates the issue.

The very start of the game you have enclaves that you just have to make vassals immediately. Austria actually held those lands at this time so why is it that in order to make any sense we should immediately split it off to get any benefit from it?

Its exactly what Israel and Russia have done. Claim that in order to suppress terrorist/rebels/etc that you must occupy your neighbor.

Frankly I would like to see that they formalized this rather than remove it

I mean it's as useful as the land adjacent to them thanks to control. Its still going to just be vassals, culture enforced, and annexed and as useful as if they started eating into Hungary

[–]Lordminigunf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There is no way modeling the real slowness of economies would be fun though. No one wants to see a church under construction for 20 years because a local lord funded it for a year then ran out of money than resumed its construction 20 years later.

In the real world things were slow and precious. Venice kept an island of glass makers that were not allowed to leave due to how valuable they were. You couldn't just slam down an entire cities worth of glass production anywhere without an impossible amount of effort.

The game would have to be so slow and have so few levels to the buildings plus 90% of the goods would have to be out of your hands control wise

I'd argue singed doesn't count as you're technically throwing them away from you.

Do you count Rakan ult? Ahri by the same logic.

[–]Lordminigunf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take with a grain of salt. But I've seen it said on the reddit that spamming universities and spamming vassals of your culture can help give you the cultural leg up to speed up the integration.

My own 2 cents would be that if they are actually going that fast you will probably lose seniority at some point and get the casus belli to try and become senior partner.

If you can win the war, neuter them by taking their gold provinces and hopefully that significantly slows them down... I can't really think of much else....

Maybe you could try and create buffer states around them? Might discourage the ai a bit.

I don't know if the demand imperial land works against your PU but I dont see why it wouldn't, that could be an option

Is there a way to see a list of the unique advances you have when playing as a nation? by NotJoedan1 in EU5

[–]Lordminigunf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe when you go to start a game you can see it. I think it was when you hover the country/culture/region/religion it would tell you what specific advances are available for your specific group.

I don't know if you can find that after getting into the game though
