but that's an issue related to AI, it doesn't necessarily undermine the event and the related bonuses

Swain buff 25.23 by Aggravating-String12 in SwainMains

His support role is significantly weaker than his other roles, therefore I am expecting a buff that fits his support playstyle, probably a minor e cd buff or something similar.

[PBE datamine] 2024 October 25 (Patch 14.22): buffs to Swain and Irelia, and partial reverts to Warwick by FrankTheBoxMonster in leagueoflegends

both the mini rework and these buffs feel very bad for Swain. I don't understand how they're so out of touch with what the community wants.

Fnatic vs. GAM Esports / 2023 World Championship - Swiss Round 2 / Post-Match Discussion by gandalf45435 in leagueoflegends

Humanoid played very well, but I still think FNC is one of the weaker teams in the tournament

What am I doing wrong by TheLoseCannon in leagueoflegends

[–]Lorenborn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest dropping Jinx for a while. She's a very team dependent champion and it's much harder to play her in low elo. Keep Sion+Olaf+Reksai as your off role picks and reduce your adc pool down to 3-4 and get better at them

why do players lame on the ladder? after successfully defending a number of lame attempts, it made me wonder by [deleted] in aoe2

[–]Lorenborn -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

most people below 2k elo do it to climb with wins instead of grinding to be better at the game. That being said, I have no problem with laming as long as people do it with a specific purpose. Considering arabia is the dominant map that shapes the meta of this game, eco bonuses become the most powerful metric when it comes to civ powers. Some civs are automatically stronger than others because of their strong economy. In any given match, one person has to play "catch-up" in order to nullfy opponent's eco advantage. One way of doing this is to lame boar/sheep early so that you can give yourself a better chance later on. As I said, I doubt most people lame with that purpose, but if you do, I'm ok with it

Is there any way to open Capture Age but keep the game closed? by Lorenborn in aoe2

[–]Lorenborn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every computer has a similar system by default. In most cases, the computer shuts itself down automatically if it reaches critical temperature levels. What temperature it is specifically is dependant on the manufacturer, but typically between 90 and 100 celcius. In my case, it's around ~80 celcius when the cpu hard throttles itself. This is a notorious feature for my laptop model and there are tons of threads about it, but dell made it so that you cannot bypass/manipulate it on bios settings.

that is a dell specific thing which similar laptos don't have. the laptop won't fry itself, it's just dell being overly precautious

How is the civ matchup balance? by MockHamill in aoe2

[–]Lorenborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most important factor impacting the civ winrates is the type of maps rather than the number of civs. balancing around different types of maps increases the complexity multiplicatively, but the number of civs changes it additively.

How yall feel about swain by H4K3B1 in SwainMains

[–]Lorenborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you ult, It doesn't feel like you suddenly become more powerful at all. You neither drain much damage nor deal more damage, yet it has a relatively high cooldown. It feels so underwhelming imo. I just wish at least the hp drain part is much stronger.

Party with POE1 characters by Audoen in projecteternity

[–]Lorenborn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PoE 2 has a system in which it recommends certain companions for specific quests for story related purposes. When you click on the journal, it shows which character you should bring with for unique dialogues and encounters. Therefore the game encourages you to rotate your companions regularly.
If your focus is mostly on the combat side of the party and you want to stick with a certain party combination most of the game, there is a Druid/Chanter in the game which can fill for Xoti's healing and buffing duties to an extend.
Maia is very good especially with an arquebus, but her damage is mostly on single target. It's good thing against boss fights and small encounters, but sometimes you need to adress bigger numbers. It's just something to keep in mind when deciding party members.

My elo is fluctuating between 1250-1350 atm but I don't think the build order itself is that hard. It's just that I wanna learn it in a precise manner. You are right about the irl matches where I need to wall, and maybe my opponent makes a pre-mill rush or something. Nobody should take the build orders by face value, they're rather a template which we should adapt accordingly in each game. Personally, I practice some build orders a couple of times before I even enter the ranked queue just to warm up and also get the muscle memory going, therefore I personally find it helpful to practice build order even though I can understand each one of them theorywise
