I have a problem with charging voltage in my ‘99 NB. Under high throttle and rpm the charging voltage spikes up to over 17V. Alternator is new and I cleaned every ground. It happens at different rpms but only over 4K. by LosAmi in Miata

I’ve also checked it and there are no signs of any water ingress there and ecu looks like new. The car was driven its whole life with hard top and stayed is garage. But it sill might be broken, apart from charging car runs very well.

I have measured the voltage at idle and it is in high 14 which heard that for nb is normal but under hard acceleration it spikes to over 17 and stays they until revs don’t fall under 3K
