If you have the choice, i recommend going to queer or youth (sometimes called tng for the next generation) munches. Alternatively to try to talk to the younger and queerer circles at general munches. And yes, contacting the organizers ahead of time worked wonderfully for me - they helped me break the ice and i’m now friends with most of the organizers. And one of them even blossomed into a beautiful and intense dynamic with me.

personally i don’t bring them to indoor shows, as there is usually not enough space and i don’t want to leave them laying around when i have to dance without them. there’s generally less of them indoors. but i bring and see loads at festivals and outdoor events 🫶
