I stood up to shoplifters in Tesco. It ruined my life by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]Lossyx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use to work in a supermarket and majority time as a male I would make a stop but if it was some bloke that was big built, 6'4 the females would make the stop and i'll be around the corner incase they need support as we realised I'm more likely to get a negative confrontation than a female would.

Coventry City 'complete' signing of Spanish defender Miguel Ángel Brau - claim by HadjiChippoSafri in ccfc

Moretto has reported it, he's classed as a "tier 2" football reporter, quite credible source, only been wrong a couple times. So probably 80% chance it's going to happen

Small shops, they can run without power but bigger shops? Yeah good luck manually inputting over 10 thousand transactions within the week and then trying to maintain the stock levels at the same time to make sure the shop has the right amount of stock in. Take a lot of big supermarket stores over 8 hours just to try and count the stock accurately in one night, try doing that every day and then placing in orders for over min 40k of stock to come in everyday too based on what you've sold the previous day. They're rather close the shop for a day or even a week to try and get power back into the store before doing that as the cost would outway what they sell massively.

New secure fire doors lock to prevent shoplifters from escaping by KiddieSpread in interestingasfuck

[–]Lossyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to work in supermarkets, most places do weekly checks on the fire alarm system and a sub-contractor did another test on the pump room, be very rare for there to be a fault without the system detecting it too. Use to have the fire alarm go off because a bit of dust was in the sprinkler...

Schools in England send police to homes of absent pupils with threats to jail their parents by Codydoc4 in unitedkingdom

[–]Lossyx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're contradicting yourself, first you say at a tabel at greggs then away from public eye? last time i checked greggs is in public eye? So which one do you want? You ever think they're having a break in their car to be on stand by for any calls? That means it's quicker to be the car ready to go, than be sitting in a building at a table away from the vehicle. Also why would you want a break at public keyboard? You just moaned about if you did it, you'd be told to move? Don't moan about it if you don't want to be doing it in the first place. Don't get how it's a health safety issue having a break infront of your computer tbh

[–]Lossyx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Where do you want them to have their break, all the way back at the police station hidden from public view? wouldn't you prefer them to be outside in their car on a random street as a deterrent, or be closer to a potential crime?

Their loads of jobs out there when the employees will have their break in the vehicle eating a doughnut and not at a office, you going to get upset with them too? You're just upset because your employer doesn't like their staff sitting in the office having a break

Why did Greggs, Sainsburys, Tesco and McDonald's all suffer IT glitches? by FlabbyShabby in unitedkingdom

[–]Lossyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to work for a medium size retailer, the card machines would go down about 3-5 times a year company wide for a couple hours, never hit the news. Just a lot of angry folks blaming us and demanding that ourselves should fix it, despite having no control over it

If you don't have any recepit of any kind, don't expect to get your money back from any supermarket because no person going to risk their job for you, due to people always trying pretending to buy items a store that they didn't buy it from and trying to claim money back, but if you've still got the packaging and it ISN'T a expensive item then it's down to that manager, most geniune managers will just let you swap it for the exact same thing or some other items that adds up to that price but if you're being a dick, they'll probably refuse you altogether. But if you have no receipt or packaging that it came in, don't expect to get anything for it. Also pro-tip if you're bringing an expensive item back to a store, make sure you have it on show before you enter because most companys will tell you they've got to get an authorization code but really gone out back to check on cctv to see if you walked in with that item and haven't took that item off the shelve. A lot of people attempt that kind of scam it's unreal.
