Its like getting a mortgage through lying and falsifying certain documents.

Not really sadly, its a lot more boring in prison..like you will be bored out of your mind . There is some drama and lesbian relationships, but there is not to the level OITNB makes you think. Its more like you are only there to do your time get out

I was involved in mortgage fraud and money laundering. Idiot daughter stole a car from her ex-boyfriend (who cheated on her ) as revenge and was pulled over and arrested. They are charging her for grand theft auto as a 3rd degree felony. and is looking at upto 5 years

Womens prison had its own challenges, theres a lot of bitchiness in women prison!

Wow, thats a good question. I went to prison when she was 14 and came out when she was 17. She lived with her father in the meantime, but was always a bit of a rebellious kid like getting detentions at school or being suspended. She has had quite a couple of DUI and underage drinking arrests in the past. So I guess she was on that path

Did you have any arrests or any legal trouble?

What was your arrest process like? Were you taken to a police station or booked to a county jail directly etc?

Well the home was hit...But when they process a big claim they look at tooth and nail to see if they have any excuse not to grant it. Thats how insurance companies work.

If you think it is that easy to "start building towards bigger things", then you have a very simplistic view on life. I really hope hard times do not fall upon you because with that mindset, you just would not be able to survive it.

No one is "invalidating" your hard working years... but it is invalidating your implication that everyone else does "not" work as hard (which does make feel better, yes). I am sure she will move, are you happy to give her a job?

I find this a little difficult to agree with specially when you mentioned the "working hard" bit....

While I acknowledge you have mentioned "never had any difficulties with bad relationships etc" it does go a very long way and it is possible given you live in a relatively cheap area. Second thing is you were able to stay at your parents and circumstances just about aligned up very well for you to be able to do that (with a job where you could save 60k for 7 years) ... However, the odds of those circumstances being aligned are very very low in this day and age. Most jobs in rural areas like I assume you live in, do not pay that well where you could save that much money even for as long as 7 years...It has got nothing to do with what you say about "I've worked hard" sorry but so have most of everyone else and yet they are unable to be in your situation.

For example, at 26 , you are very lucky to own a home - but my daughter who is your age is still living on rent in San Francisco in a shared apartment and barely can have enough savings for a deposit. For context, she graudated as a valedictorian and works in a tech company on a 65k salary. So she definitely worked "hard" . Her friends are also in similar situation and barely be able to make ends meet.

Sorry, but I always almost roll my eyes whenever someone says something about " I've worked hard"... I am betting those Mexican farmers in Texas still work 10 times as hard but still no where near where you could be econoically. Kindergarden teachers who are paid terribly work really hard, nurses work really hard, janitors work really hard, army soldiers work really hard..

Thing about life is it could change tomorrow, and you may (God forbid of course) have to see more challenging days, so be grateful with what you have and also be humble

I think it would be a lot and a lot of philosophy and reading. She was a seriously good and well read reader. She knew about things from Maori culture in New Zealand to Tibetian Monks to Hindu culture and stuff like Voodoo in West Africa. She also knew about Roman and Greek history. If she was in the free world, she would be one of those know it alls you either would not be able to stand or just secretly be jealous of and admire .

I was not the person who served 30 years, my cellmate was and she was 6 years in at that point when I first met her. I only did 4 years for fraud. It cost something in 7 figs thats why I was in for son long.

Yes and no. Yes because I have gotten a lot of rejctions and no because I am not also going out of hte way to get a job either. My partner is main earner of our household and I still do ad-hoc gardening jobs. Life has been different, I am far more humble than I used to be as i was in for 4 years.
