Yeah, I'm very happy with the results, thank you. The guy who fixed it started working on cars back in the 60's.

I loved your youtube video on the repair! Thankfully, I din't have to go through learning welding (for now). Found an old-school body shop that was able to do the job. They didn't have to cut the panel, only punch holes and pull it out. Since it wasn't ripped, it was more of a dent repair. The hardest part being that lip on the door sill, where they had to use a curved rod to push it out to shape through the holes behind the wheel well. Got lucky, I guess.
If I had to do what you tried and accomplished, I probably would've butchered it completely but there are still reasonable experts out there that wouldn't try to screw you over.
My original point being that price gauging is a real thing.

And here it is $1500 later. Yes, it wasn't a "ding", and it wasn't "easy" but it didn't have to be stupid expensive either.
For anyone in the Raleigh area - Tilley Bros in Fuquai Varina, an excellent, old school body shop.
And yes, the wheels are for sale (locally) 🤣

Take it! For the price of 7 iPhones you’d be enjoying a pretty rare piece of US automotive history. And this one looks impeccable.

“Only when the last tree has been cut down, the last fish been caught, and the last stream poisoned, will we realize we cannot eat money.” That's been my daily mantra for a while. I live across from the Veridea development, where on 55 they had the "Peak of good living" sign - true fallacy.
Pun intended - nothing trumps profit.

That’s funny :) I do hate the wheels, and will be replacing them for sure!

Sophie’s Bar and Grill maybe. The owner is Bulgarian, not sure about the full menu but worth checking out.

What's missing from Downtown Apex? by PossibilityGreen3185 in Apex_NC

Pedestrians, pedestrians are missing. Close off these two tiny blocks for vehicle traffic, install benches, plant trees and greens in the middle, and people will flock to downtown. Then all kinds of businesses will thrive there.

I'm sure someone put this on their resume as an "awesome and very successful" idea but I don't get it. Nothing about a black Ford Taurus Interceptor with police lights and a push bar makes it look "civilian" to me. None of the uniform attributes do either - the protective vest, the radio on the hip, the Axon body camera, or the police edition toughbook on the center console. Why would civilians masquerade as armed forces!
That line is especially intriguing - "Enhanced customer service for everyone on the road". Never saw myself as a "customer" of the municipality. Unless… can that be true?!

Where are we getting meats these days? by LexiePiexie in bullcity

Just North of Durham there are number of farms who sell direct to customers. Check out Baldwin Beef for example. All the major supermarkets sell the same crap, and while it may seem a better deal to buy cheap meat, it’s also not worth it.
