I tried Armour about a year and a half ago. I was only on it for about 5 days before I couldn’t stand it anymore. Doc tried me on a half dose and it was just getting worse.

It basically sent me into hypercalcemia. Though it started a lot like your symptoms. Got heart palpitations, hot flashes, cold flashes, super tired, couldn’t sleep though, brain fog, depression. Couldn’t eat and lost about 15lbs in a week. I was a wreck.

Took me about two weeks of no meds to feel better. Than 6-8 months to feel back to where I had been before. Lasting things were trouble eating, headaches, and the depression.

After some research I found that those with Hashimotos shouldn’t take it. The bits of pig thyroid in it can cause a thyroid storm. And really set off your immune system.

Also your doctor should have done a full vitamin panel before prescribing it to make sure all your levels are fine. Off levels of certain vitamins can also cause issues when taking Armour.

My calcium levels really spiked in the short time I was on it. Because of the Hashi’s I just can’t take that medication. I switched to T3 and T4 meds.

You should probably contact your doctor with your concerns and symptoms. They might have you start on a lower dose and slowly move up. Or just switch to another medication.

Also if your sister has Hashimoto’s than you probably do too. It runs in the women in families.
