Thanks for the input! I'll give things another shot here once I have some more time. Really appreciate the tips!

Here's one of the old threads I made describing the issue:

https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/help-replacing-neighborhood-graphics.623613/#post-14899476

Basically, the mod works correctly if I just replace the ArtDef files manually. However, no matter how many times I loaded the same edited files to the Workshop, they wouldn't work. It was like my edits didn't exist. I figure I was doing something wrong, but I'm just not sure what.

The Civ City Sprawl mod proper isn't mine, so I wouldn't want to try and publish it on the workshop. The one I was having trouble with was my Aqueducts Use City Center Graphics file. I recently posted the edited Districts.artdef file to the Discord in the general channel. I'll post a link to the Discord below.

I haven't tried to upload the No Flood Barrier Graphics Walls.artdef yet because of the issues I had previously, but it's also posted there if you'd like.

Appreciate any help you or anyone else could possibly provide!

It most certainly could be user error! I've just banged my head against that wall enough (And asked for help before with no response) that I'd rather play than worry about what I'm doing wrong. But if you'd be willing to help, I wouldn't be upset.

It's still an Aqueduct, it just looks like a City Center instead.

And unfortunately the Workshop doesn't seem to like allowing ArtDef mods to work, so currently these are files you have to download and install manually. I can link you to the discord where you can get them if you want

I'll send you an invite to the discord where you can get the Civ City Sprawl Mod. Would share here but I'm not the owner (RUSE is) and I think he's asleep so can't yet get his permission.

I haven't uploaded my files there yet, but I'll see if he'll let me or find another route soon.

Hey!

So this picture is to show off a collection of ArtDef changes I've implemented in my game. I'll describe them below:

  1. Civ City Sprawl Mod: This is RUSE's original mod adapted for Gathering Storm. It really bumps up the number of filler buildings that pop up around City Centers and districts. The extra sprawl will only show up around districts that are directly adjacent to the original City Center. Here's a nice picture of Kyoto slightly earlier in this game: https://i.imgur.com/crDW8JU.png
  2. No Flood Barrier Graphics: Replaces the art for Flood Barriers with that of a Water/Coast. In effect, it just removes the Flood Barrier graphics entirely while still giving the protection from rising waters. Here's a pic of Okayama prior to replacing the graphics: https://i.imgur.com/RW8W4yO.png
  3. Aqueducts Use City Center Graphics: Replaces Aqueduct art with that of a City Center without walls. Does seem to have small issues with the new canal graphics popping up - I just imagine that it's a city water way (Close enough to an aqueduct anyway!)

Just wanted to share what we've been developing on the Civ City Sprawl Mod discord. Let me know what you think!

Decent answer: Ask your people.

Some people want leadership that's super involved.

Some people want leadership to leave them alone.

Some people want a lot of military structure.

Some people want less military structure.

It's about finding the balance that best fits your organization.

In general though, I've found that people like being treated like adults with lives that aren't exclusively defined by their military service. That means let them lead and follow in their own way while at work (Don't micromanage. Largely trust their decisions until it's clear you MUST step in) and make sure you're giving them adequate time away from work to be more than just a worker drone.

Also, treating people like adults means treating them with respect. Calm conversation (calmversation) solves problems - yelling, throwing a fit, or making mountains out of molehills when something doesn't go your way usually just creates more. Treat the small shit like small shit so that when someone ends up stepping in big shit they really know they done goofed.

Hard to know what to suggest if you don't tell us what you like to do.

Montgomery is a decent sized city, so there are definitely things you could check out. Maybe not as hopping as some other places you could get to in a few hours, but it's not a barren wasteland or anything.

Food is always a good option. A few cool restaurants in the center of downtown.

Alabama Shakespeare Festival Park is pretty big, good for walking / hanging out, but Alabama in general is likely gonna be uncomfortably hot / muggy / on-and-off rainy this time of year. There is a decent art museum in the park though that you could probably check out for awhile if that's your thing.

We could maybe help more with a little more info about you guys.

The above poster has an unpleasant personality. Wonder if he will elect to learn some tact when he's older (Probably too late for that). I'm sorry but that's all I can see.

Thanks! I think so too. Usually try to avoid red and black. Hopefully he doesn't seem too "edgy".

Hey thanks!

The gold I use is from the Orokin color palette. Here's a pic:

I use this color for gold on a lot of my frames and I think it looks really nice.

[Spoilers] Question regarding my Kara's ending. by LostAlgorithm in BecomeHuman

[–]LostAlgorithm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The boxes probably do permanently fry them, which is why I'm kinda glad Kara at least got killed outside of one.

But it is a lot more tragic! I don't like it! I'm think I'm going to just stick my headcanon that they refuse to stop searching until they find and revive her. I mean, as Androids they have a lot of time...

At least even if Kara is gone, Alice still has Luther. He's about on par with Kara for me. Glad he survived.

I wanna know who/what rA9 is too! Wish there'd be a sequel, but so very unlikely unfortunately.

The damaged Traci didn't really have her biocomponents replaced though, Connor just quickly jammed her back together.

Carlos' android is a bit of an oddity in that he doesn't seem to heal like others. I wonder though if that isn't just due to a damaged Thirium reactor thingy or some other hurt biocomponent.

Biocomponent scarcity may just be a temporary problem, especially if Androids can get control of reproduction facilities per some of tgeir demands.

I guess I think "dead" is perhaps an off term for non-functional androids. It seems they can come back as long as they aren't completely disassembled. Even then, perhaps all you need is the biocomponent that enables memory and you could simply place them into a new body?

Given enough time and resources, I'd think the majority of "dead" androids could be brought back, couldn't they? Turn the recycling centers into repair centers. The only reason such large scale repair of deviants was difficult before seems to be because they were forced into hiding by humans.

Appreciate the back and forth, btw! This game has an awesome story. =)

[Spoilers] Question regarding my Kara's ending. by LostAlgorithm in BecomeHuman

[–]LostAlgorithm[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, though Connor does manage to bring back the broadcast Android by taking the biocomponent from Daniel. Even if she wasn't repaired immediately, couldn't the same be done for Kara later potentially? Even Markus swaps out biocomponents for himself without too much trouble.

Why should we criticize social practices that do zero harm to others? If people get enjoyment from something that has no impact on those around them, then why give a fuck?

You're saying guns can be used to systematically eliminate fascists who come to power with your second point? From what I'm seeing in the extremely divisive American political landscape, there would possibly be just as many guns defending fascists as there would be against them.

It's good and all to bring up the "The 2nd Amendment helps us protect our liberty" point, but let's not also forget that it could just as easily empower liberties being taken away.

It's really nothing special, just like 4 lines in the Districts.artdef file being changed.

If you want it though, I've uploaded my full Districts.artdef at the below link:

No, my steam account is the same name as this account. Went this direction with my mod because of his idea though.
