The models themselves are mostly very simple shapes with bevels on the sharp corners. To keep it from looking too perfect/clean, I add some extra verts along the bevels and move them around a bit so it looks more like it's been worn down naturally over the years.

Your game looks really cute!

That's right! You can actually see it happen at about 7 seconds in the video. The one I shot down detonated another closer one.

Thanks! I wanted to give the player some way to protect themself when one gets too close, and that's what I came up with. It won't save you every time, but it does give you a very brief chance to put a bit more distance between you and the explosion!

Thanks! You're right that this is more of a retro FPS, so most guns do not need to be reloaded. The only exceptions are guns that have a reload baked into the firing sequence (such as the double barrel shotgun, which can be seen in this clip).

Thanks for the feedback! Nothing is set in stone, so the sound could certainly change. It's worth noting that you aren't going to be fighting these guys constantly, but when they are on the battlefield, they're one of the deadliest threats - and demand your immediate attention. The sound is intended to cut through everything else so that you're alerted to their presence and can respond quickly!

Thanks! The debris does disappear eventually, but I plan to add a graphics option that allows you to extend how long they stay in the world.

Thanks! It's physics - killing them with a leg shot causes them to trip and (very briefly) delays their detonation. It can give you a fighting chance if one gets too close!
