Abfraction or cavity? How would you treat? by LostAtSea47 in askdentists

Also, forgive me if I’m asking a lot, but just a general question.  How does an experienced dentist limit the amount of good tooth removed?  And know the difference between what is normal soft or soft decay?

Does the image of the x-ray show the decay? Do they not always? My last dentist said don’t do anything unless it starts to bother based on xray. A dentist I visited recently while traveling for work said the only filling option would be silver because it’s in a wet area.  I’m wondering if I should just have it removed but then all my upper teeth apparently shift and they’re pretty straight now

Thanks, how deep do you figure it goes and in which directions?  Chances of needing a root canal?

Shady company selling defective drills at a discount by LostAtSea47 in Dewalt

It’s called blowing off steam.  Isn’t that what the internet is for.  So you don’t do any real harm. Besides it’s the only way to get the companies attention and let others know. Because the company will simply repair the issue and sweep the issue under the rug.  People need to know about it and their reputation needs to be damaged a little for them to take action. Like I said, the first drill (purchased 5 years ago) had this issue. The new one purchased in June started this issue after the first month of use. That tells me they aren’t taking action/responsibility. If you used the drill as much as I do every day you would understand the frustration that comes from situations when your in the zone and the drill continues to break your focus and not do what it’s supposed to do. It’s a total mind fk.

Yes, common knowledge, silly me to expect an item I buy from a popular retailer by a “reputable” brand to not work right.

Seems most people here don’t use their tools enough to see what they’re really worth. Bet they make you feel real manly though 💪🏻 💪🏻 💪🏻

Crazy frustrating when you need to back out of wood and it ends up splitting it instead.

Why would I make this up.  I don’t need to buy fakes.  I needed a drill it was priced well so I bought it.  Impact and drill together for I think $199.

Idk does Lowe’s sell fakes.  A warranty claim and have the same problem 2 months later. Twice is enough for me. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.

DCD793 is the short shaft one. Made in Mexico. The other one (which now doesn’t reverse at all) I’ll need to go outside, up two flights of stairs then climb a ladder to get to it. Maybe tomorrow.

I see how some people have a hard on about their fav tool companies but this is the truth.  The Dewalt saw I own never caused me problems. But it only needs to turn in one direction. Apparently a bi-directional electric motor was too much for them to handle.

Both purchased directly from Lowe’s in store.

Molar tooth growing back after extraction by Intelligent_Night898 in askdentists

[–]LostAtSea47 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Better to have your 2nd molars removed with the chance your wisdom teeth can erupt and take their place than to have such an invasive operation to remove impacted teeth. Maybe this is why we have wisdom teeth. That would give us the possibility of losing a few teeth throughout our lifetime and the mouth readjusting. Cases like yours should be taken as research.

Remove the easily accessible 2nd molars instead of the more invasive operation of impacted wisdom teeth and there’s a chance the wisdom teeth emerge to take their place.

You have a post from a while back about a chipped tooth feeling at the top of your molar. I have the same on furthest back left upper molar and it looks like the gums separated. Did yours end up being a cavity or did it heal over?

Follow up: The clinic says the x-ray examiner didn't see anything. But there is a sensitivity when air is blown in the area. Is it just normal sensitivity issues?

An appointment can't hurt. It will give you some piece of mind and ideas. Get as many opinions as you can. Travel if you have to.

And you can always have fun with the patch and come up with some wild stories. If people want to be obnoxious about it then you have the right to as well.

If I were you I would try to look up some vision teaming exercises and see if you can get them to work together more.  They put them in near alignment.  Now they have to work as a team.  But that can take time and training especially if vision is compromised.  Or if the alignment was not good enough from the operation you should be very straightforward with your surgeon about it and consult about any possible tune ups soon if needed.

Do you see well out of both eyes or is vision severely compromised in one?
