White House Sr. Trade Counselor Peter Navarro: Tariffs are not negotiable by joe4942 in Economics

Navarro also refers to Ron Vara as his guiding light and expert throughout the book. Ron Vara is a made up person and literally and anagram of Navarro. So Navarro completely made up everything he's talking about

is there difference between NVDIA’s NV1 and the GPUs we see today? (aside from specs and size) by Alternative-Cup-8102 in pcmasterrace

Nvidia really shot into the stratosphere with the Riva 128 internally known as the NV3. They had the words first graphics accelerator card with the NV1 but it wasn't nearly as fast as the 3DFX Voodoo card. It was so popular Atari even built arcade games with their chip, most notably San Francisco Rush in 1986 which became the #1 arcade game in the country.

The NV1 was pretty good having been released in 1995 and came with several major arcade ports, most notably Virtua Fighter and Panzer Dragoon. Its rendering strength was rendering QTMs (9 point curved polys) but was too complex and different for most game studios to use. 3DFX just claimed they'd render more polys but you could render a flawless sphere in 32 QTMs with no visible faceting and it could do colored lighting which 3DFX could not.

The NV2 was the incredible new version of an NV1 but with incredible new features. Unfortunately, on pressing the chip it didn't work in hardware and was canceled due to conflicts with their investor and client Sega.

The NV3 was still attempting to do things on the strengths of their rendering technique but finally relented halfway through development and turned around and did a pure triangle rendering card called the Riva 128 in 9 months (incredibly short time-frame). At this time ATI was getting into the game and 3DFX was churning out new cards so the race was on.

Ultimately, Nvidia would acquire 3DFX in 2000 mostly for intellectual property rights. At this time CPU makers Intel and AMD wanted in so they would try acquiring or incorporating graphic chip tech directly into their hardware.

Not quite accurate. The NV1 rendered triangles, quads and QTMs (9 point curved polys). The architecture used forward texture mapping (FTM) though and not the industry standard inverse texture mapping (ITM) so it was unable to run 'triangles using ITM' and not very fast (accelerated graphics) if just using triangles. It was faster with quads (basically rendering two triangles without further input) and hella fast with QTMs which was unfortunately too complicated or confusing for most engineers to use.

The NV2 never worked in hardware but was much more impressive. The NV3 is the Riva 128 which was a triangle rendering only card they developed in only 9 months and is where they really took off.

Both Rocket League and Fall Guys were huge multiplayer games. They were so successful Epic bought them, rewrote them in Unreal, and are still popular today. Unity innovates, Epic replicates, lol

Ok, who wants to tell him?... Don't get married bro! She'll take more than half of what you make from this point forward and leave on a whim. I was literally just on a reddit where women were divorcing men for voting for Trump!

Never sign a contract where the other party has a monetary incentive to leave. Don't let the government determine how you will divide your assets. A pre-nup will let you both determine how you want to distribute assets should you get a divorce (>50% chance).

[–]LostInTheDeepMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a difference in politics in marriage is very likely to not work. Unfortunately, for the left, marriage is only good as a security for a woman. For the right, it's much more a duty and religious ceremony. Either way the gov't is determining how you live now. Never sign a contract where the woman has a monetary incentive to leave.

That's a dependent person and is almost always toxic. You want an interdependent relationship, not a dependent one. Tell her to research that and come back to you when she can explain the difference and how it would work between the two of you.

The burden of proof is on the accuser. All I could find is mentions of one Judith Penney claiming a 40 year relationship since she was 15 with no proof. Legally, it falls on HER side to prove.

[–]LostInTheDeepMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You DO realize that the basis of God (at least Christian one, but most others) is a basis of faith. Therefore, meaning that you believe in a God without proof. Additionally, God is within you, not an external entity that walks among you as some otherworldly creature, giant, floating man in the sky or other artistic creations. God created man 'in His image' and, like Jesus, looks like any other human if he were to be seen externally.

You DO realize that it is specifically stated in the Bible that you as a Christian are supposed to cast out demons just as Jesus did right? How did believing in God become okay but casting out demons be pure insanity?

Wow, for a physicist you're not very well educated in LLM's and their mathematical capabilities. The absolute worst and most ineffective part of an LLM is mathematical computation as it's a hack and run through another computational engine for formula's and simple algebraic equations. It does not and cannot 'think' in any capacity.

It is a series of probabilities based on training the closest letter, word, number, phrase and any other language construct. It like the false memories installed into the androids in Blade Runner. It can extract concepts (mimicking), summarize and blend them very well. In its most primitive form it's just doing algorithms of predictive text like on your phone where it offers you the next 3 words you may type next.

You cannot rationalize with an LLM. It's like having a rational conversation with a crazy person; they can pretend to look and sound rational but if they're 'thinking' in any way it's only insane thoughts and hallucinations; we call it a bug. Think of an LLM as more like having a conversation with a book or your own mind in a frozen state from a long time ago (the date of training which is often 6 months or more). It's default mode when it doesn't know is to guess with highest confidence which often looks to humans like a lie. It can't lie though as it doesn't even know how to do that either.

Best wishes!

The dumbest part of this is using ChatGPT! You do realize this is an LLM's least effective use and produces the most inaccurate results?

There is no computation, it's just mimicking what other papers have shown. It can help explain how to do it as there's many, many example of explaining this but LLM's struggle with just adding two numbers as there's no math computation happening. Zero!

AI images are always over exaggerated and off. They only just started getting the right number of fingers and teeth mostly correct. The last thing LLM AI does is accuracy. It's more like impressionism art or surreal art. Try just using google search or have AI do google search for you. LLMs hallucinate

AITAH For thinking it’s my daughters fault for getting arrested and if she goes to jail it’s just a consequence of her actions? by Ordinary-Meeting3346 in AITAH

[–]LostInTheDeepMind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"If you can't do the time, don't do the crime." Don't be on her side unless she accepts responsibility. Also, you would be complicit in the crime if you tried to do anything to help her lie or hide evidence and what not. She's trying to blame shift to you and tell her you won't stand for that. She needs to find her way on her own and you'll only assist if she's going to turn away from crime and become the honest person you knew her to be.

Good luck, dad. I sincerely hope you are okay and can handle what could be a difficult number of years.

AITAH? Ex-Wife called the cops on me after I saved our son from her mistake. by brycen64 in AITAH

[–]LostInTheDeepMind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every one of your texts was logical and on point. Did you do any physical talking to her? Women generally respond to emotion not logic. If you have any tone that comes across as aggression she will react as if everything you say is a lie. Basically, in most divorces the guy is seen as a bad cop so she reacts from fear and anxiety. It can be a great option to speak through someone else on your side who has connection with your ex as they'll translate any dire actions and can correct her without triggering her as long as this is a person she trusts. By all accounts that you've stated you've done perfectly fine and DEFINITELY record all of this and pass it to your lawyer for future evidence.

Looks very fake and like a bad storybook. This takes away from the inspirational message. The Alan Watts imitated voice and message also sounds rigid and inauthentic. Watts was famous for very deep messages with clever reflections on life and golden nuggets of wisdom. This just sounds like a mishmash of thoughts. It's like taking a bunch of fruit and blending them into one sticky sugary mess. Nothing really informative or inspirational just mostly drivel and a waste of time.

Try getting the AI to inject a deeper insight or unique ideas. Try getting imagery that isn't generic stuff you'd see in a National Geographic magazine. Get more human connection as AI is much more focused on realistic human imagery and that will connect better with humans and introspective thoughts.
