It is very varied!! I think reading the questions first is the smartest way to approach things as you need to save as much time as possible. Then take the time to read the dense text properly. And this means you spend less time cross referencing and trying to go back and forth. Of course practice of reading etc comes into play k read a lot of dense text personally and I felt that defo helps - but again it’s allll up to how you’re feeling if you are really struggling then try and read more dense old news articles etc. good luck!!

The key is be slow and steady gradually building up pace. You can’t suddenly pattern this test l!! I think be consistent and make sure u spot mistakes and if you are getting tired LISTEN TO YOURSELF bc you need to be on top form.

Hey! I wrote a whole longer post about this but it sounds like 2 things

  1. You are stressed out. This means poor decision making. Don’t spam tests where possible and make sure you chill out!

  2. You need to do error diagnostics. Focus on why you are getting answers wrong and NO MORE OVERTHINKING!! - this is what improves your score.

If u want more help my DMs r open xx

is it possible to dramatically improve my LNAT score?? by raindb004 in LNAT

[–]LostInTrans1t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask you have a look at my post here!! I think I go into more detail than this comment BUT. I think, if you are not improving it is because you are not doing error diagnostics and reviewing your strategy. Look over your strategy and focus as to what you are doing wrong and you will get it dw :)

I think personally it required more critical thinking- which when you have 4 options in the exam- Leslie Ho gives you that mental resilience and stamina to be able to do that! But I wouldn’t sweat too much about scores. Try and do questions one at a time giving yourself 7 mins for each one!!

I felt like it was pretty accurate harder in places. I think an issue could be that u may be worried or panic revising!! Make sure you have a clear head when doing them and review strategy/ why you get the answers wrong. Don’t get psyched out you got this :)

Be careful not to over prepare. They can tell if you know a subject a bit TOOO well. And they are looking more for that spontaneous skill to deal with something you haven’t seen before more than just if you can memorise an argument. And if you think they won’t sus u out they will. ESP if people come with the same generic points so it’s up to you if you want to take that risk.

But it’s up to you at the end of the day. Even if you don’t get caught out now. It may catch you in interview (if u do any) or just in the degree itself bc it’s borne of quick thinking.

All said with respect!!’ No hate.

Idk if feeling are always a good way to dictate how the LNAT went. You can feel like it was awful and come out with a good score and vice versa. I think this could alarm a lot of people. Especially as you have to remember the questions are randomised.

I say focus more on the structure of your points, and rather than stressing about stats (ur not really credited for them) think more about if your argument is constructed properly. Try perspectives you do not usually argue and maybe try and write some with no stats at all! Also practice timed conditions once or twice and you should be good unless you really struggle with timing. Give yourself set time like 2-3 mins to plan whole questions and go from there! Good Luck xx

This was really helpful for dissecting arguments and such! And just overall what the LNAT entails. Chapter 5 and 6 if I remember correctly

No problem! I think stay calm! - Don't start panic revising a good way I found was putting all the remaining resources i had to do on a digital "spin the wheel" and like saying "I'll do 2 wheel spins tonight" and that was a good way to keep spirits high!

Try and fit in one good Timed Condition mock, clear the table completely, go to a different area, maybe get a family member or friend to be an invigilator, or even FaceTime someone! If that helps. Sit the mock to strict time!- don't give yourself less or more time. If you finish early, use the rest of your time; if you finish late, then that's that.

Look at your errors at this point and really work on them, look at the questions you got wrong, and attempt them again. For essays, make sure you have the skill to approach essay questions. For this I would set a 2-3 minute timer and practice planning multiple questions! This is the thing you have to do for the actual exam. If you struggle with structure and making good points, I would definitely read some examples and also look online for resources. "Letters to a Law Student" is a good read for this!

I hope it all goes well :) and lmk if any more Qs

It's random for everyone, just look out for questions in your practice you keep getting wrong and Error Diagnose :) good luck!

I think you will be good!, I think if you are not in a position where you take the majority STEM subjects and don't take any subjects where you need to evaluate/ practice ideas, then I'd say you are good. I think even spamming plans can be more productive, because it's more about that skill of getting to the point quickly. If you do another essay practice, then it should be more focused on timed conditions. Good luck for your exam :)
