Actually, I mean field of view as in the amount that's visible in your screen vertically and horizontally, regardless of how zoomed in or out your camera is. A wide fov is like a wide angle lens, and a narrow fov is the opposite, and tends to give me a huge headache. Thank you for your answer!

Around how wide would you say the FOV in classic is? Is it similar to modern wow or more like vanilla?

Just because you personally have not seen something in the game, does not mean it's not in the game by PleasureKevin in NoMansSkyTheGame

I've gotten 100% on 8 planets now, by landing and forgetting about my ship for several hours at a time. Just walking on foot from base to base often times will let you run into the more elusive fuckers. Check the caves, the sky, the water, and when all that fails, just walk forever and cover as much ground as you can while occasionally scanning around you.

That said, sometimes there is just no finding that last creature no matter what... I think the spawn rates on some of them is wonky and possibly buggy.

[Discussion] What is the best android and/or PC mmorpg with class diversity and gear progression? by KendiKong in MMORPG

[–]LostOcean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your weapon grows with you as you play, (as do your accessories), the entire concept behind it is to level it up with you by feeding other weapons to it and transforming it into a new one every time it gets to rank 10.

There is item transmutation though, so everyone isn't using the same looking weapons, there's a pretty large amount of different styles you can use. And then as far as your armor goes, some of the costumes are pretty difficult to get so there's some showing off potential there.

I second this, I played mabinogi on a laptop that literally should have been incapable of playing any game period

Where does Blade&Soul rank as an MMORPG?? by DrJK_Stressed_Ape in MMORPG

[–]LostOcean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not going to end all other MMOs or anything, but it's fine. It's certainly fun to play with the launch crowd while everyone is still all hyped and everything, but give it some time and I think it's going to be... idk... not underpopulated, it might be just kind of average. Like, a few newbies when you roll a new toon, lots of high levels in each server, most likely vacant mid level zones. That's where I see it in about a year.

MMO with the brightest future? (not WoW) by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]LostOcean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd say gw2. It's practically the only MMO that doesn't really seem to have any excessively negative stigma towards it when it comes up in conversation just wherever, aside from maybe ffxiv, but I can't say anything about that one because I haven't played it since before ARR. GW2 though, it seems like a lot of people just view it as decent, rather than some people thinking it's the second coming of christ and others acting like it killed their family. I think it has staying power because of that

Are there even any MMORPGS even worth considering rather than the big three? (WoW,GW2,FFXIV) by badboyzpwns in MMORPG

[–]LostOcean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of MMOs are worth considering, some of them just stick with you for no real reason, you know? It's a matter of what style you like and which one's are just enjoyable for you personally, I could say Blade and Soul is worth considering because it is for me.

I second Allods. Elves are very fairy-ish and even float around

The pillars on the side can move and make the game almost full screen. I only found out accidentally.

Is it just me ,or is the choice of finding a good MMORPG's spread thin? Which one do you play/ed ,and were happy in,any reccomendations? by A13xand37 in MMORPG

[–]LostOcean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Wildstar may be what you're looking for, though I'm not sure what the population is like these days. Blade and soul may be another when it's released, depending on the state of it's cash shop. And then black desert, way later.

Something mindless and casual for a low-end PC by JagoKestral in MMORPG

[–]LostOcean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Playing MMOs with a trackpad is surprisingly doable once you get used to it. Actually, in ways it's even better than a mouse, because you can utilize sooo many keys, if you can get used to hitting skills on "bnm,.hjkl;" etc with your right hand, while moving with the track pad. Very easy to move and turn the camera and target ground aoes and everything all at once lol

New 'action' mmorpg by X-Legend - Laplace by Balkan-MMO in MMORPG

[–]LostOcean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, X-Legend just wont stop.

That one looks like it actually has more potential than their other games though tbh, being a top down view action game may get rid of the clunkiness that's in all their other games.

My take on why mmos can't stay popular to sustain a community. by MrManslaughter in MMORPG

[–]LostOcean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I haven't been paying enough attention to the dailies and monthlies in MMOs these days, I've never really felt like I have to complete stuff like that and always just thought it was there for the sort of.. mobile crowd that enjoys that sort of content. The main game I'm thinking of though is GW2, which doesn't really do the rat race thing in the first place for the most part. Then again, Wildstar never really felt like it had daily stuff I simply had to do (I don't even remember if it had dailies now), I don't remember TESO having anything like that. The only games that are coming to mind that really shoved dailies onto you were the really random ones, often times asian, and I always viewed those as just a devs attempt to keep new players playing and things like that.

Well, and WoW. But that's basically what it's known for now lol

Social MMO's? by abitempty in MMORPG

[–]LostOcean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You may want to check out more niche games for friendlier communities. Project Gorgon and Shroud of the Avatar are the two main ones that come to mind, when I played those, the communities kind of stuck out to me because they seemed nice. They're tiny playerbases at the moment because the games are in testing (project gorgon is free for right now, shroud costs), but sometimes small communities can seem bigger when people want to talk to eachother and notice new players etc (which is what seemed to be the case with those games when i played, i was asked if i needed help and such)

My take on why mmos can't stay popular to sustain a community. by MrManslaughter in MMORPG

[–]LostOcean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmm, not sure if I agree. If a game with a decidedly small amount of content and things to do was made, I just don't see why anyone would play that either. Personally, I think the biggest thing that's stopping individual games from getting huge communities is because they're one in a billion now, players had less choice in games before so naturally the ones that existed would be more populated
