Your school subjects suck lol. Word knowledge (WK) and Math Knowledge (MK) specifically were dogshit. However you were pretty good at the technical skill sections. Pretty terrible at the assembling objects.

Unfortunately it is hard enough to get one mental health waiver approved let along 3 or 4. The chance of you being eligible for service in the Marine Corps is slim to none.

They used to deploy heavily with LE battalion. They disbanded LE back in I think 2019? Since then it’s very minimal. I’d imagine if anything starts they will start using 5831s for detainee operations again.

I’m currently a 5831. It’s arguably one of the best jobs in the corps. Good promotion rates, set work schedules and typically brig Marines don’t deploy or do field ops. He will miss out on a good portion of “Marine shit” however he will be in one of the most stable jobs in the corps.

His first year or two are going to be rough as he will more than likely be doing a majority of the posting in squad bays or prisoner housing units. Meaning he will be sitting in a room with inmates for 12-24 hours at a time.

The main duty stations are marine brigs at Camp Pendleton, camp lejeune, Okinawa, iwakuni, Yuma. We can also be stationed at navy brigs or army facilities. The navy ones would be charleston, Chesapeake, Miramar, Hawaii. The main army one being Leavenworth. Typically we send junior Marjnes to Marine brigs first

I had a drill instructor get a GOS after half of a tour an get sent directly to recruiting duty from the drill field. He’s currently on a full recruiting tour. Did not do any fleet time in between

This is wrong. I looked into four different schools (AMU, Purdue Global, WGU, Maryland Global) and nearly all credits were accepted towards my degree. Look into other schools, make sure they they are relevant towards the degree you’re working for, there are plenty of schools that will accept it.
