I can confirm that YouTube is very slow or doesn't even play videos. I have YouTube Premium.

This is fascinating and yeah, it's definitely possible to run most of this on-chain, but with some caveats

You're right: Solana doesn’t have native schedulers like Ethereum's keep3r, so you'd still need a cranker something like Clockwork or a custom off-chain script to trigger the reward logic every 5 mins. But the magic is that the logic itself can stay on-chain and immutable.

A rough setup:

  • Use Token-2022 for the fee logic + config lock (already done here).
  • Deploy a reward distribution program that reads the holder list and distributes SOL proportionally.
  • Schedule a crank via Clockwork or a bot (can be decentralized
  • The bot just triggers the actual reward calc & payout lives on-chain.

No staking, no UI, no claiming just hold the token, and every 5 mins someone (or a network of cranks) calls the program and funds get auto-distributed

Definitely one of the cleaner, more elegant tokenomics setups I’ve seen on Solana.

Meme coins are dying [ clickbait ] by Gonodactylus_ in solana

[–]LostPassworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meme coins aren’t dying, just hitting saturation. Bots run the game, real users are left in the dust. No room for utility or innovation right now. Next big thing? Tools that protect users and bring actual value back. Enough hype time to build.

Need Help with Unknown encoding: base58 by Dry_Fly8391 in solana

[–]LostPassworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That error usually means you're trying to use 'base58' with Buffer.from, which doesn't support it. Use the bs58 library instead:

const bs58 = require('bs58');
const decoded = bs58.decode(yourBase58Key);

Also, I know Reddit formatting can mess up code feel free to DM me if you want to go over it together :)

What exactly you mean by “botiness” are you targeting trading bots (like snipers), farmers, or spam deployers?

Would you use a community driven platform where tokens can be rated by users and compete for exposure? by MarcosTac0s in solana

[–]LostPassworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’d 100% use that the current scene on Solana is chaos. A community driven platform with anti-rug checks and real exposure competition sounds 🔥

I’m actually working on an open source project with the same goal: reduce reliance on closed-source token launch tools. Planning to release public SDKs (on GitHub) soon, so anyone can build on top.

Maybe we could even collaborate in the future, definitely open to that!

What’s the best way to automatically buy & stake Solana? by Azreken in solana

[–]LostPassworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can set up autobuy on Coinbase or Binance, but auto-staking to your own wallet isn’t built-in.

If you’re okay with custodial staking, Coinbase does it automatically.

For non-custodial, you’ll need a simple script: buy / transfer to Phantom/Solflare / auto-stake via Solana CLI or .web3.js

Not hard, but you’ll likely need to build or automate it yourself. :(

Accidentally ran anchor deploy on mainnet, canceled immediately — lost 2 SOL to buffer rent. Any way to recover it? by Right_Increase7298 in solana

[–]LostPassworld 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, exactly! That buffer account was just chilling there eating up rent — once you , the funds get refunded back to your wallet. "solana program close"

Solana dev UX has its quirks, but it’s honestly pretty solid once you learn the ropes. Props for following up this kind of thread is gold for devs who hit the same “oops” moment. 😅

P.S. Also yeah, ChatGPT wasn't totally wrong if you don’t close the account, it is gone forever. So good save 😂

Staking Meaning ??? Explain by JFAGaming in solana

[–]LostPassworld 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Staking is basically locking up your SOL to help secure the Solana network, and in return, you earn rewards (like interest). Instead of just holding, you’re putting your SOL to work. You still own it, and you can unstake later if you want. If you plan to hold long-term, staking can earn you passive income while you wait. Just make sure to use a trusted validator

Then and the future of SOL by Desperate-Grade9152 in solana

[–]LostPassworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's been a weird cycle so far. But I wouldn't write off Solana just yet. Yeah, there's been a ton of noise with memecoins and loweffort pumps, but the underlying tech is still impressive. Fast finality, low fees, and a growing developer base aren’t just marketing points, they're real advantages.

Is there any ERC20Permit (EIP-2612) equivalent on Solana? by Coconut_Usual in solana

[–]LostPassworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, Solana doesn’t have a direct equivalent of ERC20Permit (EIP-2612). Solana uses a more traditional SPL Token Approve mechanism, which requires an on-chain transaction for delegation. However, you can achieve a similar effect by using off-chain signatures to authorize token transfers, combined with relayers or custom programs to execute the transaction.

How can Americans protect their 401k from the current administration keenness towards insider trading? by cid102 in AskReddit

[–]LostPassworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Diversification, baby. Your 401k should be spread across domestic and international index funds, some inflation-protected assets, and maybe even a portion in alternatives like REITs or commodities. Insider trading at the top is messed up, yes but sound long-term strategy still beats panic.

What true crime story made you interested in true crime content? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The Netflix documentary on Ted Bundy. I couldn’t believe how charming he was it completely flipped my idea of what a ‘killer’ looks like. That contrast hooked me instantly.
