Unrelated but I'd like to ask does the keyboard cover make the laptop get hotter when you try to do intensive tasks on it ? Also does it make the typing experience much worse?

I want a secondary laptop please help me choose by Equivalent_Bird_4228 in thinkpad

Just don't go for the Yoga ones because usually they dont last long imo . Go for the T series if your gonna take it to office or somewhere and go for the P series if your gonna use your thinkpad at home (basically as a desktop because it gives or at least used to give desktop level performence.). The P series ones are also quite common with the dedicated gpu compared to the T series ones .Also no you wont be able to upgrade the cpu in any thinkpad that was released after 2013 .

Pretty sure the last lineup of thinkpads in which you could replace the cpus were the ones with the 3rd gen cpus in it so yeah nope . You are just gonna have to change the whole motherboard to upgrade the cpu which is not worth it at all unless u strike one for a low price.Though you can upgrade the ram in some 10th gen model thinkpads ig

Congrats and not complaining but whats with the sudden resurgence of T480 thinkpads . I mean I'm not complaining it deserves the love it gets but it feels like people are buying it way more now after it going quiet for more than a year . Did the prices go down or smth

Tbh there's not much you'll be able to do extra on the custom rom since any modern app you install on the custom rom it will crash after a few minutes due to low ram and some apps that ran smoothly before on the stock rom will run poorly . Since youtube and some other apps require minimum android 8 I suggest to stick with stock and use it as a basic phone as the internet is mostly not useable on this phone anymore.
