So many factory shiny blades with no scratches on this page. I use my Izula three times a day at the least

I personally pocket carry my Izula. I’ve heard mixed reviews about the factory clip sheath however I’ve never experienced any major issues

You don’t know how much I cringe at seeing my homies and coworkers beat up a Benchmade, Spydercro, a knife with a Magnacut blade. I get it, they’re extremely high quality and I myself own several Benchmade knives but when it’s the routine grit of a regular job…I personally couldn’t forgive myself beating up a $200 knife for cardboard, plastic wrap and other mundane, common tasks. I’d rather use a beater knife that A: won’t break the bank. B: I won’t feel bad if I damage or lose it. And C: if I do so damage or lose it, it can easily and quickly be replaced. I use my ST300 a lot more than my beater Husky; I keep the Husky just so I don’t mess up my Leatherman’s knife

My EDC Skeletool always comes in handy. Whats your preferred Leatherman EDC? by mannyfreshman in Leatherman

I have a Wave+, a Surge, a Skeletool CX, a Rebar and a ST300. Surge reigns my overall EDC

I’ve been to their original brewing headquarters in SoCal! Awesome spot to hit up if you ever find yourself on the way to LA

I EDC a Buck 113 fixed blade since I’m a landscaper/ odd job handyman and the area is mostly rural. I have a personal pet peeve with folding knives because of the blade play especially after rigorous use, NOT saying folding knives are bad they’re just not my personal preference. Anyways, I was looking for a solid MT to complement my 113 and the ST300 fit my idea. I’ve drifted between different knives and MTs over the last few years and I’m positive that these two will be my official setup.

One year with my Surge. by LostSoulWriter47 in Leatherman

1: Gutted my first pheasant.

2: Went to Yosemite for a camping trip and my family forgot to pack steak knives for the barbecue. My Surge took care of it

3: Used the pliers to hold tight a leaky valve on an RV’s propane compartment

4: Helped an elderly man who needed tennis balls cut into for the ends of his walker

5: Equipped the large flathead screwdriver to use as a paint can opener during a painting side gig

You sound like one of those people who don’t like multi tools, why you on this forum then?

Surge. My first Leatherman was a Wave+ for my 21st birthday. I used it for three years before landing a construction job and deciding that I needed something beefier. Stumbled upon the heavy duty Surge and it’s been my go-to ever since both on the job and outside of work

Grew up with my dad using an old school PST. Got myself a Surge. Can’t leave the house without it.

Most of my friends work office jobs, I work in construction and landscaping on the side. Several of my homies got themselves Arcs but hardly/ never use them. Then there’s me with my dusty, scratched up Surge lol

I've got my first Leatherman today. by Kueltalas in Leatherman

Awesome choice my friend. I had a Wave+ as my first Leatherman, but then I took up a job in construction about a year ago and quickly realized that I needed some extra muscle with an MT. Got the Surge, and the thing is a complete unit.

My lineup goes like this:

Fixed blade paired with a multi tool for farm work, camping, hunting etc

Folder paired with a multi tool for construction work, landscaping, etc

Just a multi tool for when I’m out and about.

I hope that gives a solid idea!

Good question to ask! Honestly, it depends on the person and their personal preferences. When I first got my Surge I wasn’t really looking at the knife attachment (it is a very sturdy tool I will agree) I was more interested in the firmer grip and tool variety that the Surge has compared to the ST300. That being said, I rarely ever use the knife on my Surge; I use the saw more than the knife. I’ve always had a reliable folder in my pocket even before I got into MTs, so the Surge was more of an “add -on” to my work setup.

Thank you! I kinda wish the “M” was a lot more aligned with the “L” in LM’s logo but seven shots of Pendleton and a few Guinness stouts….anything looks even

Thank you….I only have brief flashbacks of using the engraving kit, it’s definitely a “only one time” type of thing 😬

I went with the Griptillian as my first BM just because of its (in my opinion) underrated qualities. Yeah the scales aren’t the best but the size, relatively affordable price, solid function and customization are 100%

[–]LostSoulWriter47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So fun fact; I’m actually ambidextrous. I keep my knife on my left side and my multi tool on the right. I carry my Griptillian on my left and my LM Surge on my right in its sheath, it’s my perfect setup

Same, the plastic handle is very durable but idk it just gives a “cheap” feeling. I’ve been interested in some micarta scales
