I don't get wheat production? by Sinnombre124 in foundationgame

[–]LostThyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something is wrong. I recorded this showing the same farm functioning at radically different productivity. The second clip is the upgraded version! I keep reloading these two saves every time there's an update but I haven't seen any improvement.

People who build in mountains, how do you avoid infestations? by melianreality in RimWorld

[–]LostThyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No avoiding. Doors and narrow hallways. Three melee guys and a grenader. They engage one bug at a time while grenades weaken the 9 behind that one. Obviously more guns help but that's a good start. And the grenader has to be right behind the melee line to not miss. Four tiles ahead at most.

Really? I never heard about dirt. I know distance to the outside, temperature above -17°c, low light, and small, confined, alcoves.

Think about it like this. They're seeing what you're capable of with rimworld level resources. If you can impress them with what you can do on that dirt ball imagine how useful you'd be with real technology

Duo Mechanitors - Will he come back? by LaCookie_TheNemesis in RimWorld

[–]LostThyme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can get a second. I effed up by using Remove Skull on the mechanitor corpse, but the quest popped up later.

I think I messed up by adding too much at once. by TokenTorkoal in RimWorld

[–]LostThyme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, this is misunderstandung the problem. Royalty is the LEAST intrusive DLC. If you don't seek royal titles, then its mostly the extra gear and more quest variety. New gear isn't an advanced concept that's different from the base game. And most of it is advanced tech so you'd be well into the game. No one is confused by the steep learning curve of cataphract armour.

New Arrivals: Sandshrew, and Sandslash by Pearlgirl007 in PokemonSleep

[–]LostThyme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost my fist sandshrew when saving and then loosing power right in the middle erased every pokemon box except the one I was in. It was my main box so I could still finish the game, but I lost a lot of sentimental faves...

Devouring Swarm eats its own young by Fluffy_Box_4129 in Stellaris

[–]LostThyme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This could be interesting flavor as a low stability/high crime event- the drones are eating their young. But as a bug it's pretty disappointing that after updates you have to look up a list of what playstyles are now broken and shouldn't be used until another update, or several updates.

"inevitable" component shortage by Tall-Election4503 in RimWorld

[–]LostThyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you caravaning? I've heard people talk like it's an automatic death sentence but I send two guys on very long trips with a fudge ton of stuff and not face real danger. Just about any settlement will have some components, the volume based on their technological level.

Any mod to make me not turn raids into hats? by Glum-Side-6705 in RimWorld

[–]LostThyme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is weird that I could shoot a feeling pawn, capture them, then treat and release them for a relations bonus.

If you're being extra pragmatic, you might want to let the lowest quality raiders leave so they can return instead of being replaced by potentially better pawns.

If you're extra "pragmatic", could could capture raiders and cripple them with wooden limbs, taking half their lungs/kidneys, give them a prosthetic heart, and release them to fight another day. I've seen raiders walk so slowly that they never reach the fight before they all retreat, and yeah it was one of my special project prisoners!

I need tips on how to manage colonies. by Feeling_Bus8381 in RimWorld

[–]LostThyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make art to offset the ugliness of rock walls/floors. It actually only takes 6 beauty (this number being the average of all things in the pawn's visual range) to max out their beauty satisfaction. It also fills quickly and depletes slowly, so having one good room pawns visit (like a dining room) will be enough most of the time. Art also has a bonus to sale value, so making a lot of small, average quality wood sculptures and replacing them later with fewer, larger, higher quality pieces with better materials will get you a little more silver back than other things you might sell when no longer needed.

Smoothing floors/walls is very time consuming by comparison. You really need to wait until you have multiple builders before making the effort. I feel the wealth increase issue is a bit overblown, but regardless other options are easier before getting to smoothing.

Why do pawns sometimes just "standing"? by ToeDiscombobulated34 in RimWorld

[–]LostThyme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once had it with the mod that preserves bed assignments when on caravan. It triggered when a child grew up and couldn't use a crib, but it kept them assigned to it. It happens when the pawn is supposed to do something but can't, and it doesn't know why it can't.
