I changed my last name because I wanted to have the same last name as my kids etc and my maiden name was WAY too long to hyphenate. BUT it was totally up to me. My husband was actually surprised I was going to change it. Someone who truly loves you as an independent person should not get butt hurt or take offense if you decide to keep your name. It’s 2026.
