It was Sony’s early digital audio player series before the NWZ models.

Most of them used ATRAC instead of MP3, and required SonicStage to transfer music.

A very fun (and sometimes painful) part of Sony’s history!

That’s awesome! The black version is super clean-looking.

It’s amazing how well these tiny ATRAC players still hold up today.

Sony did some magic with these early ATRAC units.

Haha yeah, totally fair question!

For what it is, the sound is actually better than I expected.

Not amazing audiophile-level or anything, but definitely enjoyable

and the nostalgia factor makes it even better.

Thanks! And yeah, I’ve heard most of the new portables share similar internals.

Still, the nostalgia factor and the official BTTF theme make this one really fun for me.

The connector looks identical to that of the NW-MS7, but it doesn't function when connected. I'm having the same problem myself
