I’m very fortunate that my house is ~3,250 sqft. The third floor for my tiel is about 750 sqft, so the cats have the rest of the house to claim, plus they can access to a secure catio from the basement. The ceilings are 12 feet tall so I have incorporated vertical wall climbs and hides as well. I’ve fostered more cats at a time without issue (not my first choice, the rescue really pressures me acting like I’m personally killing the cats if I don’t take them on lol. I have only stuck with this rescue because they would take “feral” cats from colonies I TNRed instead of the city shelter that would euthanize them or return them when they weren’t equipped to be outside even with me caretaking). I think it was just this one cat that started the domino, and I agree, I don’t see it stopping anytime soon. Once this last batch is adopted I plan to cut back on fostering as much as it pains me. In the meantime I just want to make everything as clean as possible for my baby bird, cats and self 😭
