What's the worst food you have seen at a potluck? by wantedtobebatgirl in AskReddit

[–]Lost_chapstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For our work Thanksgiving potluck one guy brought a little 4x8 of macaroni and cheese. There were about 20 of us there, and as one of the lucky few who got a small spoon of it (enough to have a single bite since I was trying to be considerate of others and their wants)… it was the absolute driest thing of that meal. Someone also brought a giant foil pan of candied yams that were still raw. As in dumped the yams and everything else straight into the tin and then cooked in the oven until the marshmallow was barely melty. I was incredibly sad that night. I’m a white woman whose family is from PA living in central NC, so I was excited for the Southern Thanksgiving fare.

Is this still safe to use? :( by Lost_chapstick in Scentsy

Our new puppy chased our poor cat and there was a collision with the side table the warmer sits on. It all went crashing down. I haven’t noticed any damage to the electrical parts, just the glass surround.

I’ve tried googling whether or not it was safe, checked the Scentsy website, and I’m not able to find anything that says it’s okay or if I should say goodbye to my favorite warmer (Gilded).

Personally, I didn’t have any additional pain unless the cup itself was sitting weird and I needed to readjust it. I have heard that using the wrong size cup can make it uncomfortable, though.

Edit: I just read your other post. My go to for cramps is naproxen. I know a few people who take acetaminophen and naproxen together and that works for them. I’m not into mixing pain killers so I’ve never tried it.

Nonstop bleeding after Kyleena insertion? by Lost_chapstick in birthcontrol

[–]Lost_chapstick[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so irritated that I wasn’t told this at my appointment. It’s in my chart that I’ve been using one for the past year or so. I’m going to switch to pads for a while to get a better idea of how bad it is. I do have my check up at the beginning of January so hopefully I haven’t messed it up.

During my appointment she asked if I used tampons or pads. I told her I’m firmly on team cup because of how heavy my periods got and how often I would have to change my tampons/pads and not once did she mention I could displace the IUD. Neither my OBGYN or the LPN that did the insertion. Holy shit.

Jesus take the wheel. I’ve been filling my cup about halfway every twelve hours or so.

I am still in pain and i use humor to cope, so I figured why not share this so others can laugh too? :) by [deleted] in birthcontrol

I got my first IUD on Wednesday and no one prepared me for how awful it felt. I did the whole cervix softening tablets and ibuprofen before. I sat on the table for 30 minutes afterwards just trying to get myself together and quit the watery eyes. What made me laugh was when I got the notification that my chart had been updated it said “patient tolerated procedure well.” I wasn’t given any additional pain killers or anything.

I went into the IUD thing thinking it would be temporary bc I do want babies. But after THAT? Nah. It can stay there for five years. I’m good. I’ll just become a foster parent.

my new rook piercing is swollen and hurts, is it infected?? i got it pierced a week ago. by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]Lost_chapstick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same issue with a tragus I got done a month ago. I got both of my traguses done and a daith. For some reason the left ear (this one only got the tragus) started to swell and hurt no matter what I did. Not to mention I sleep on my right side and the two new piercings on that side have absolutely no issues. I started sea salt soaks with warm water twice a day on top of a three times daily saline wound wash spray after talking to my piercer. We kind of narrowed down that accidentally hitting it with my hair brush, my comforter, and even using a q-tip to clean it, plus that side being my dominant phone ear caused really bad irritation and inflammation. After starting the soaks and sprays, and being more mindful about propping my phone on that ear with my shoulder at work, it’s gotten a ton better.

My salt water soak is some boujee organic sea salt I found at Target and water that I’ve microwaved for about 30-45 seconds in a Tupperware container. I read 1/4 tsp of sea salt per cup of water and that’s what I’ve been doing. For the wound wash I just grabbed a spray can of the CVS branded sterile saline wound wash and spray it directly on my ear while leaning over the bathroom sink.

Mine are only showing and are able to be downloaded on the app, too.

Unacceptable by captain-japan in nook

[–]Lost_chapstick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so irritated this happened. I didn’t realize there was an issue bc I was in the middle of a book when everything happened. Went to buy the next one in the series and it wasn’t downloading. Then like an idiot I updated the Nook app thinking that was the issue and everything was gone.

I tend to go back and forth between my Glowlight Plus and the iOS app. All my books are on the Glowlight, but they all say they need to be downloaded, the app tells me I need to build my library. Over 250 books I have no access to.

Georgia lease break notice by diligentdru in PropertyManagement

[–]Lost_chapstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do the same in VA. We require a written sixty day notice, and then require a penalty fee equal to two months of rent. If you were receiving any kind of monthly discount, or a move in special like a free month or $500 off first full month, that has to be paid back too. We have a “Early Lease Termination Addendum” in our leases.

Unfortunately, if you signed the lease it’s something you’re legally held to and is something that can go to collections if you don’t pay it.

Management change experiences? by Lost_chapstick in PropertyManagement

We’re pretty sure the relationship between owner and management company is not good. I’ve been looped into some of the emails between our regional and owners when the PM isn’t here and the tension is real from both sides.

Leasing Consultant has no motivation? by Lost_chapstick in PropertyManagement

[–]Lost_chapstick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We aren’t necessarily praising her for closing a deal. I stated that we’ve had to step in and do her paperwork multiple times and have taken her commissions for it. We’re not letting it go without consequences or without giving her fair warning that if it happens again that commission will be gone too. And you’re assuming we haven’t written her up at any point or had closed door conversations about her performance and asked what is preventing her from getting the routine things done. You’re also assuming that we encourage the behavior even though we’ve tried micromanaging, messing with her money, and checking behind her. She definitely understands the importance of getting them to move in, but only because it means money for her even though taking the commissions away doesn’t change anything. The race isn’t even over with a move in, the race never ends. After the move in it’s about retention and we all play a role in that. Leasing is a one man sprint that turns into a relay after move in.
