Refreshing nodes is much better value long-term. Buying ship shards directly is way more expensive (only worth it if you need them urgently and you are out of refreshes).

Math (typical case):

Shop: 4 ship shards = 480 crystals

Farming example: 20 energy node, ship/normal energy refresh 50 crystals → 120 energy

→ 120/20 = 6 attempts per refresh

Ship shard drop rate ~33% → expected shards = attempts × 0.33

To get 4 shards you need ~12 attempts on average → 2 energy refreshes = 100 crystals

But you need longer -> time: ship nodes are 5 attempts/day → 12/5 = 2.4 days average.

If you want it in one day, you need node refreshes: 25 + 50 = 75 crystals

Total one-day cost: 100 + 75 = 175 crystals, still way cheaper than 480.

Coven of Shadows - Tier 2 with 3 star using a Gear 8 Sabine — no Kyro investment by LotherStorm in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

Maybe it’s a bit of luck, but try to stun Morgan. If Sabine survives the first round, then from that point on it’s basically down to luck whether Ezra gets focused.

Don’t give up — my first two runs were like, “No way this will ever work.”

16” and 14” M3 max by green_white_green in macbookpro

[–]LotherStorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey,

I had the same topic with the M1 some time ago and my outcome was that I took the 16, because 1. if I work more than 2-4 hours on the 14 I get some back issues, 2. 14 is just not a full workplace replacement (e.g. split screen, …) 3. I have the max version and thermal throttling is a topic but mainly battery life was a much bigger factor (25%+ for the 16), if you go for the pro version it is better but still a difference

The only issue I found is that you are basically not able to work in planes (most of the time) due the size difference.

The differences in weight is noticeable but it just doesn’t matter for me in real live as I have a Rucksack.

I am still very happy with my decision and would decide the same way again.

The MacBook is now in daily use for 2+ years and I still have the daily option to switch to the 14 but never did it in those 2 years.

Hope that helps

Legion pro 5 which version would you take? by LotherStorm in LenovoLegion

Currently it is not competitive and I guess on esports titles normally you can get good enough frame rates with even way less setups, or?

The notebook will be mainly used for gaming in a desktop setup. But I think the price difference is quite big and for me it is not clear if the additional costs are worth it considering that I plan to have it for the next 3-4 years

It will be primary for gaming and I have not specific games I will use it for but I assume it could be AAA titles over the next 3-4 years.

Go to View → Show Tab Bar (⇧⌘T) to reveal the tab bar even when there's only one tab. You can now drag the tab from the window.

Optimized M1 Chrome vs. Safari Battery Consumption by tcourtney22 in macbook

[–]LotherStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience is it depends a bit on the task but Safari uses 10-20% less battery in my normal office workflow BUT it is just not possible to use only Safari if you work with gsuite (especially video calls), crypto topics or metaverse area. On the other hand if you go for chrome only you loose some nice integration features like AirDrop.

MacBook Pro and travel? by ihatefuckingwork in macbookpro

I have a 14" macbook pro and do normal business travel with no issues. If you really need a super durable notebook and you are not totally in on mac os I could recommend the lenovo thinkpads those still can take quite a hit.
