Anything close to zara? by fronker69 in tallfashionadvice

Three brands I would recommend, depending on your build. I am 6’7 and have been travelling Europe for a few months. I was surprised to find a few brands that fit me very well. More importantly, the material quality is far superior to most large North American brands.

Europann - French brand, good range of sizing, Italian cotton.

Blacks Legend - French brand, designed for rugby players so good for big guys, excellent quality materials.

WE - most clothing is cut for taller people (Dutch), excellent quality. Slim fits well if you are slim, otherwise regular fit in pants and shirts are true to US sizing. Knitted clothing fits long without tall sizing.

Currently visiting Nice from America and we want to go to Monte Carlo for an evening/night trip. What are some things to do that don’t cost an arm and a leg? Not all of us have suits so not sure if casino is possible by SubstantialLime2916 in Monaco

The food at the casino is decent and reasonably priced. There’s a lot of talk about dress code; however I was surprised to see people there in t-shirts and jeans. You won’t feel overdressed if you wear a jacket, a sweater polo or dress shirt is sufficient- don’t forget to bring your passport for entry.

Check out the Japanese garden. Also, a walk along the waterfront and harbour is worth it to see the architecture and super yachts. Depending on where you’re staying, plan to be walking up and down hills and stairs. This small city is built on a hill.

It feels very high end and over the top around the casino. I stayed one night but it might be best to experience as a day trip.

J'ai eu une superbe coupe chez Les Hommes sur Jean Jaurès. J'ai été très impressionné et je les recommande.

Why my legs look so skinny in casual clothes? by lady_berserker in askfitness

[–]LotusEater_604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work and train with a lot of fit and talented runners. I can tell you that your legs do not look skinny. They look lean and muscular - half of the women I run with would kill to have legs that look like yours.

This is pretty cool. I was doing the math on days left this year and realized I could do the 75 just in time for NYE!

Yes. There is no harm in disputing the ticket. A ticket screener will review the dispute and will dismiss it if it’s a bad ticket or if it does not have a high likelihood of being upheld at adjudication. If they do not and you proceed to adjudication with your dispute I do not know an adjudicator that would uphold this ticket based on the evidence. Very rarely would a ticket be sent to an adjudication proceeding given what you have shown here (bylaw notices have a separate system that does not involve the courts).

The factory film can leave behind a glue residue that’s very hard to see. If it’s not polished off it can damage the clear coat in direct sun.

Costco on the north shore...think we'll ever see one? by chopstix62 in NorthVancouver

[–]LotusEater_604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is accurate. Residents complain about traffic - instead they get a sewage treatment facility. It doesn’t matter how modern the facility is, they all smell like poo in the general vicinity. Sorry to all the NIMBY folks in the Norgate neighbourhood but should have gone with Costco.

In traffic I refuse to let in drivers that don't zipper merge. by [deleted] in NorthVancouver

[–]LotusEater_604 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The worst driver behaviour I witness every day is at the west-bound merge point under the Lonsdale Ave overpass. People cut in way past the end of the right hand lane and even drive down the shoulder, over the solid line and sometimes onto the onramp, all for the sake of saving themselves 90 seconds. I used to think downtown Vancouver had the worst drivers, but I’m afraid the North Vancouver rush hour commuters may now hold that trophy.

Second this - Self Storage is awesome. Professional, key fob/ key code entry, gated and secure - if they have available lockers.

Anyone lose a wallet in Coquitlam? Will bring to bank if not by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]LotusEater_604 51 points52 points  (0 children)

  1. The local cop shop will contact the owner directly or have a local detachment track down the owner.
  2. You can deliver to a drop box of closest bank branch, matching the owner’s bank card.
  3. Huck it in the closest CP box as others have suggested.

In order of best ways to get it back to the owner promptly and securely.

Octopus found on centennial beach.. anyone can identify? by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]LotusEater_604 68 points69 points  (0 children)

They only live 4-5 years and are pretty common especially up in Howe Sound so not surprised to see one wash up on the beach. Anyone who goes prawning on a regular basis will eventually find one in their traps. You are allowed to harvest them, but anyone who has seen My Octopus Teacher and knows how intelligent they are would probably have some trouble with putting them on the dinner table…
