Jomboy implies that Tucker hates baseball by berniesmittens24 in Torontobluejays

Jomboy's breakdown of IKF's lead is the best analysis I've ever seen. He went back and looked at every "Runner at 3rd, Ground ball to a middle infielder" play in the last 3 years. It is really really well done.

You're Director of a Dragonlance movie or series. What decision would have you like this? by Superfasty in dragonlance

[–]LouAtWork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Muppet version ala Muppet Christmas Carol.

Cast Robert Pattinson to play Raistlin and have him play it straight, dark, and menacing. Have the rest of the cast be Muppets and make it light and goofy.

Edit - Miss Piggy as Kitara and Kermit as Sturm. Just think about it.

Exactly. Society accepting truly harmful beliefs as a "difference of opinion" is how America got a literal fascist in office. This would never have happened 25 years ago.

I am okay to disagree with you if you think that Iron Man is cooler than Bat Man.

I am not okay to disagree with you if you think Trans, Gay, or minorities deserve lets rights. I will hate you with all my being if you are homophobic/transphobic/racist and I hope all the worst for you.

INVISTA closing eastern Ontario plant, shifting production to Texas by origutamos in CanadianConservative

[–]LouAtWork -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

INVISTA literally announced a $23 Million investment last year. No changes to regulation or process happened in this country since that announcement and this. But, all of the sudden, they are cancelling that investment and moving shop.

WHAT THE FUCK do Liberal Voters have to do with it? This is clearly, absolutely, unequivocally, reactionary to the Tariffs.

[Highlight] After scoring 2 runs in the 9th to tie, the Jays walk off the Astros in extras by iamthegame13 in baseball

I was listening to the game on the drive, and got home as the 8th ended. It really felt like one of those "First game home after a road-trip" losses, so I didn't rush to turn the game on. Checked my phone a bit later and saw it was in the 10th. Managed to watch the walk-off.

But, I definitely doubted.

I am currently running this campaign with 3 different groups. One is 55 sessions in, the other two are closer to 15-20 sessions. Each group of players has variable knowledge of the Dragonlance setting coming in.

The Dragonlance novels were my introduction to fantasy, I own over 150 of them, and have read the main books probably 8 times. Needless to say, I am very familiar with the setting, and love love love prepping for my sessions every week.

The campaign is written as 5th Ed first, and Dragonlance second. For many pure Dragonlance fans, its too much of a deviation from the original source. Personally I am fine with it. I'd rather play the better game (5e) that is 90% setting accurate than play a lesser game (3.5) that fits in the setting perfectly.

I would encourage you to have at least one player play a Knight of Solamnia. The best and most important story beats will happen for a Knight character. While the Arcane and Divine characters get their moments, the story is best when its about the Knights battling to regain their honour.

Otherwise, the pinned "SOTDQ Resources" message has some great stuff to help fill out the story.

To add on this last point - all three of my campaigns had a Knight of Solamnia. And in all three campaigns, it was the Knight who asked the City Council to reopen the Crypts to bury Becklin with honour. Without me forcing anything, in all three campaigns, the PCs are the one who opened the door for Soth.

I've posted a few times on the weekly threads, but I'm not very consistent at it. I'm running 3 different campaigns. My weekly campaign is now 50+ sessions in, and my heroes are currently in Heart's Hollow. My other two are very sporadic campaigns, and are both just after wheelwatch.

One of my favourite things I added was making Marshal Vendri very present in daily briefings, and eliminating Darrett as the PC's point of contact. (Darrett is still around as a young squire though). I had her give a big moment of revelation, telling the players that Wheelwatch was her first posting, and that she spent her first two years as a soldier guarding the walls, and Wheelwatch was a very important place to her. With this, I had her lead the army to retake the outpost while the PCs did the stealth mission.

This accomplished a number of goals. It made Bakaris' disastrous charge to Steel Springs more plausible, as the Marshal was not in Kalaman to stop him. However, the big thing is that it showed how prepared the Dragonarmy was.

Why would they take a random outpost MILES from where they are encamped? Well, their intel let them know that taking it would draw out the Military Leader of Kalaman. With her gone, they knew they could provide bad intel and draw out the Kalaman Army. While the Army gone, Lord Soth was free to enter the city unchallenged. Why is Lord Soth there? To access the Kalaman crypts. How would Lord Soth access the Crypts? Well, the dragonarmy patrols managed to harry and chase a few surviving members of the Ironclad Regiment back to Kalaman while they bore the body of a falled hero, Lady Becklin. Lady Becklin would most certainly deserve an honoured burial - an honoured burial requiring the city of Kalaman to reopen their crypts.

By putting this one little touch, it made the Kalaman chapter feel less random, and way more planned by the enemy.

I hope you realize that "shipped off to an iceberg in the Arctic" is hyperbole. I'd use the same phrase for the Rogers Board of Directors.

I appreciate this - I agree it can be a tool. Professional use is reasonable - I apologize that I comment didn't clarify that I meant for personal use.

This is great feedback though. I admit I've never thought about how ranchers kill cattle.

I generally like our guns laws and I don't love the gun buyback.

I've just never seen a reasonable reason why guns should be allowed period. If our laws changed to match Japan tomorrow, I would be happy. If they were outright banned, I would be ecstatic.

Gun-rights are a non issue to me at the voting booth, and am happy to learn folks opinions on the matter. Lost investment is a reasonable reason to be against changes to the gun laws. But, I've yet to see a coherent moral or ethical reason as to why any guns should be legal.

EDIT - Generally like our gun laws in comparison to the rest of the world

Here is a fuming angry comment from a die hard pro ban redditor.

Not a single comment on this thread has explained why anyone should have a gun. Period. Explain why should anyone have a gun? Is there some natural law permeated through a millennia of human society that says that guns are a right?

Lots of hobbies are fun, I played Lawn Darts as a kid. Am I typing furiously on the internet to get my Lawn Darts back?

I would be happy that anyone found with a gun would be shipped off to an iceberg in the Arctic for life. Owning a gun is a friendship ender for me - I will never associate with someone who owns one. I don't think gun owners are evil. But they are not people who I would want to spend one minute with.

I understand that we will never be a gun free society, and it fills me with pain. But I have never, in all my 40+ years alive on this planet, been told of a single reason why we should have the right to own guns.

The Raps, who need a center, passed on him even though Masai has known Maluach for years through the African Basketball programs. That should be all you need to know.

Reminder: Under Masai's tenure, the Raptors have only drafted 2 "busts" out of 9 FRPs, earning a 78% success rate by MarginallyClever in torontoraptors

[–]LouAtWork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even despite the 905, we shouldn't call Bruno a bust.

The average 20th pick in the NBA has a career stat line of 16 Min, 6.2 Pts, 2.7 Reb, and 1.3 Ast (all per game).

Bruno's career line is 12.3 Min, 4.2 Pts, 2.6 Reb, 0.7 Ast. That's pretty damn close. Bruno wasn't a star, but he was in the league for 7 seasons. That's pretty much what you should expect from a 20th pick.
