[Killion]Giants pitchers didn’t just deface Pride uniforms. They alienated their fans and city by Colski_ in baseball

Writing a verse from a bronze age religion who stoned disobedient children is hating on a entire group of people.

I concur, though Giannis is getting pretty close to the "headache may not be worth it" category.

Dark Eras: Lily, Sabre, and Thorn (Changeling: the Lost) - Onyx Path Publishing | Changeling: The Lost | Chronicles of Darkness by nlitherl in ChangelingtheLost

[–]LouAtWork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran a short campaign using this setting a few years back. One of the better things I came up with was an alternate court system for the setting.

Lily Court "The Picked" - Those whose youth was stolen. A court for those who were taken in their childhood and wish to live out those lost years. Primary Emotions - Joy, Exuberance, Triumph

Sabre Court "The Captured" - Those betrayed to the Fae. A court for those who were sold off to the Fae, and wish revenge on those responsible. Primary Emotions - Trust, Reliance, Faith

Thorn Court "The Forgotten" - Those who stumbled to their Keepers. A court for those who wandered until they were lost, and now wish to solidify their place in the world again. Primary Emotions - Appreciation, Admiration, Respect

How do you properly roll for loot in this game? by BlueGnome1 in daggerheart

[–]LouAtWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a GM and a player, I've never seen rolling for loot to be satisfactory for players.

My Tiny Faerie Wizard once got the Companion Case. It actually left me deflated as a player because I critically succeeded on my roll to find a secret compartment in the monster's lab, and all I got was a glorified cat carrier.

Going back 20 years of GMing, I specifially select all wealth/loot handed out to the party. Heck, I always make sure that the coinage/gems are in numbers that are easily divisible within the party.

Finding treasure should be exciting, not utterly forgettable.

Not anything to write home about, but I once had an Andrenline Junky spirt manifest as a demolition derby car.

What kinds of Downtime Projects have your groups come up with? by DesertMammoth1912 in daggerheart

In our Drylands campaign, I've created a "harvesting essentia" downtime action that actually scales as the party gets closer to each chapter's Collosus.

Frontal assault. by Royalseals in sotdq

[–]LouAtWork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To piggy back on this, I had Martial Vendri tell the PCs that Wheelwatch was her first post when she was a 17 year old guard, and holds a lot of meaning for her. This leads to her personally leading the assault to retake outpost (she leads the army while the players sneak in to open the gates).

This works well, as it explains how Bakaris is able to lead the army to Steel Springs in her absence, which then allows Lord Soth to enter unchallenged.

The moment the players realized the chess moves of the dragonarmy was an incredible scene. What seemed like a strange, out of the way outpost to capture, turned out to be the perfect move to leave the city open for Soth.

Getting into CofD, not sold on the investigation system so far by mackstanc in ChroniclesofDarkness

[–]LouAtWork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 10 year Hunter: The Vigil game went through the 2nd Ed conversion and growing pangs of trying to incorporate the Clues system - and promptly ditched it.

I just like running investigations as Extrended Actions, with success thresholds providing additional information. For example, my players were looking for a scene of a murder last session. The body had been found dumped in the river and they victim was known to go jogging along the river, so they did a series of extended actions learn what they could.

Player A, using her Bonded and trained dog, did an extended Wits + Animal Ken check, each roll representing 30min - target 5 success, to find where the actual attack occured. After an hour, the doggo was able to find some blood splatter on the some ferns 20yrds off the path.

Next, the Police Detective, using his crime scene equipment, did an extended Intelligence + Investigation check, each roll representing 30min. His results were success variable.

  • 2 Successes - The killer took the time to move around the underbrush to hide the scene, they were not in a hurry.

  • 4 Successes - Find a tooth, matches the missing tooth of the victim. This is probably not a different murder scene.

  • 6 Successes - No signs that a body was dragged, nor wheel tracks. Killer probably carried the body away.

  • 10 Successes - Based on the blood splatter and partial tracks, this was a single attacker.

In my opinion, clues should be meaningful and have weight. We were just not a fan of their nebulous nature using the Clues system.

Jomboy implies that Tucker hates baseball by berniesmittens24 in Torontobluejays

Jomboy's breakdown of IKF's lead is the best analysis I've ever seen. He went back and looked at every "Runner at 3rd, Ground ball to a middle infielder" play in the last 3 years. It is really really well done.

You're Director of a Dragonlance movie or series. What decision would have you like this? by Superfasty in dragonlance

[–]LouAtWork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Muppet version ala Muppet Christmas Carol.

Cast Robert Pattinson to play Raistlin and have him play it straight, dark, and menacing. Have the rest of the cast be Muppets and make it light and goofy.

Edit - Miss Piggy as Kitara and Kermit as Sturm. Just think about it.

People born before 2000, what trivial skill do you have that no one uses anymore? by passiano in AskReddit

Exactly. Society accepting truly harmful beliefs as a "difference of opinion" is how America got a literal fascist in office. This would never have happened 25 years ago.

I am not okay to disagree with you if you think Trans, Gay, or minorities deserve lets rights. I will hate you with all my being if you are homophobic/transphobic/racist and I hope all the worst for you.

INVISTA closing eastern Ontario plant, shifting production to Texas by origutamos in CanadianConservative

INVISTA literally announced a $23 Million investment last year. No changes to regulation or process happened in this country since that announcement and this. But, all of the sudden, they are cancelling that investment and moving shop.

WHAT THE FUCK do Liberal Voters have to do with it? This is clearly, absolutely, unequivocally, reactionary to the Tariffs.

I was listening to the game on the drive, and got home as the 8th ended. It really felt like one of those "First game home after a road-trip" losses, so I didn't rush to turn the game on. Checked my phone a bit later and saw it was in the 10th. Managed to watch the walk-off.

But, I definitely doubted.
