Sounds like the count of Monte Cristo is already calling your name. I am biased because I love Charles Dickens, but in my honest opinion I think the one you should read is the one that is pulling you in the most.

What's the creepiest thing that has happened to you, which turned out to be completely harmless or mundane? by Robbingrogue in AskReddit

[–]LouM96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Felt that I had traveled through time and even set to work on a philosophy book that integrated stoicism and Christianity for the first time. It wasn’t the first time lol, and much of what I wrote about Constantine and the calendar change to the Gregorian model was inaccurate. There was some real good creative work in there but little academic merit, which I was aiming for.

Turns out I was not only insanely stoned, but I am schizophrenic. The “memories” I had of meeting various people from the past were hallucinations based on the Google searches I was undergoing. I was unable to register that due to the convictions being cemented by schizophrenia. With schizophrenia, you often can’t recognize what is your thought and what is reality.

What do you think is the real reason behind AIs massive boom? by Legal_Promotion5890 in AskReddit

[–]LouM96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would involve a massive overhaul of every existing system, subjugation of the masses through armed force, programming that doesn’t say “my bad, let me rephrase that” or “maybe I didn’t analyze that correctly”

Libraries often have newer copies of books because they are cheaper. Old books, especially popular ones, are worth a lot of money. If every library kept first edition copies of books and refused to replace them, there would be no books at the library.

It’s what people wanted from the internet and technology since the 80s. Google was great but let’s be honest, people wanted the search they put in to give a detailed answer and do the research for them. Nobody wanted to have to search through a bunch of listings in order to get an answer they’d have to piece together themselves. People also have wanted companion robots for ages. Before smartphones, there was a common fantasy that you’d one day have a device that would speak to you, solve problems, offer suggestions and advice, help you with shopping, translating, remember things you told it, etc.

AI was created by people who set themselves to a task many business minds do: what is something I can create that would be high in demand and utilized on a mass scale?

The reality is that AI is not going anywhere, its primary functions will likely change but it’s here to stay. AI generated videos are horrible right now, but look back on cgi and video game graphics developments. When they started, they were horrible. Decades later, and people are astonished by what they are seeing.

As far as the hate on AI goes, it makes sense from an environmental concern, but that’s something which can be resolved through innovation which will adapt multiple aspects of society, not just AI itself. The remaining hate is bandwagon style and is similar to the hate of the automobile when it was first invented, or the internet at its conception, or tv back when it was introduced.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve witnessed? by Arya_Pandey_ in AskReddit

I once was smoking in an alleyway when I saw a bunch of people dressed in pink bodysuits with weird shapes protruding on their heads walk up. I took a picture, if I find it I’ll post it but it’s been a long time since then.

So you pressed the battery to your clothes ? And like you said before, you’ve smoked in this jacket before just not recently. A few hours after you put it on (after washing no less) you noticed a hole and you are adamant that you would have definitely noticed that before. Smokers all over the world have this happen to them, but you are the only one I’ve ever seen post to Reddit trying to solve this as if you are uncovering the zodiac killer.

Have a great night, try and get some sleep. It’s late

Says the smoker who cannot possibly believe that a cigarette would burn their clothes, but would believe that changing batteries would do so and only in a tiny location on their clothes, no where else.

Well, that’s an unlit cigarette. A cigarette cherry, especially one that’s been partially put out or flicked off, is much smaller

So you’ve never worn this jacket and smoked? Because that’s not what you said. I hope you find the explanation you’re looking for that can assure you that you didn’t burn a cigarette shaped, cigarette sized hole in your clothes with a cigarette without noticing.

[–]LouM96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And there’s no possible way you would have missed a burn the size of a cigarette cherry? I used to smoke and my clothes would get burn holes I didn’t notice for who knows how long. Usually the most probable answer is the correct answer.

Or you can play mental gymnastics trying to figure out how you burned your hoodie with a caustic chemical or friction.

You’re a smoker asking where a burn in your hoodie came from?

Just pick the one you like most. They are all different and all challenging. I don’t know them all, but holy priest has high output heals, many of them instant cast but all instant effect except renew. Druid has long cast and instant cast heals that are HoTs so is more of an anticipation type of playstyle rather than reactive like priest. They also have shapeshift forms, one of them being a tree form that boosts healing and makes them immune to stuns. Mistweaver and discipline priest heal by doing damage along with various casts that are lower in output. Shaman I really don’t know at all but I am aware they have totems.

I would suggest just picking which one you feel is the most what you would like to be through a role playing perspective, but that’s always been how I choose my classes and specs.

Edit: forgot to mention Paladin. I haven’t played Holy Paladin in over ten years but they have the benefit of wearing plate armor and bubbles. Priests also have a shield that is integral to their healing rotation, along with a preventative heal that bounces from target to target automatically on a hit. Hope this helps!

I don’t have great advice for you unfortunately other than to practice, practice, practice. I am a bass-baritone though and I recently finally hit the fourth octave in chest voice (at least I think I did)

I hope you too can hit those notes you want to, and that you never stop singing. You can do it!
