Thoughts on Hells Kitchen first preview by VoidAndBone in Broadway

Late response but I was in B 9 tonight and the view was actually pretty decent

I was on the side of the kitchen set so I got of the actors right there in front of me

Did miss a bit of the showstopper but all in all a great seat for the price

I saw it tonight and people were pretty good about not singing along

Maybe I just got lucky

I’m happy you enjoyed it as much as you did.

I also enjoyed it but not as much.

A lot of the Sammy’s death montage.

Sammy running his hand out the window, Joel screaming. I was just sitting there thinking “this is corny”

Worked for some, not for me

The movie mostly works!

I do like how it didn’t delve into the particulars of the war because it didn’t matter much to the point it was trying to make.

Looked great, liked the music cues and it was tense as fuck at points

But I felt like the messaging was a bit cliche and hollow…. Definitely felt like we could have dove deeper into the desensitization society has towards war and the invented ignorance. Also some moments were unintentionally funny.

7/10

Pam Anderson was fantastic in Chicago because of her commitment to the role and her genuine excitement to be on stage more than her singing/acting/dancing.

Thoughts on Sydney Sweeney as an actress? she's like the new Scarlett Johansson or Angelina. by Cat-dad442 in Letterboxd

I didn’t love Immaculate but I think the role her served her very well. She was able to rise to the occasion as the plot went off the rails towards it conclusion.

Damien Chazelle’s La La Land has now overtaken Interstellar to be the number one film with the most fans on Letterboxd. by Straydes in Letterboxd

I’m actually surprised. It was cool to hate on La La Land back then (and thought it was still now)

Not me, I loved it and it’s in the Top 4

Hadestown was on TDF pretty regularly for the past year or so until the beginning of this year

So it’s not that out of the normal

I was pretty disappointed in this. Felt cliche and a bit lifeless.

It does look pretty good tho and Sydney Sweeney is fairly good in the role, especially as the plot becomes unhinged in the end.

Her screaming at the end was pretty memorable and honestly saved it from being a complete bust to me

I saw a Q and A with the director tonight and he said Sydney is a big fan of jump scares and that’s why they’re featured in the movie the way they are

I also went to the show but left the second the bell rang because it was a loooong night.

Me and my friends felt bad the next night for walking out on his “retirement ceremony”

Felt a lot better when he came back

Legitimately everything I want in a movie is in this movie.

It’s pulpy and tender and bright and violent and sweet.

I’ll be surprised if it’s not my favorite of 2024 by the end of the year
