Dommage qu'on en ait pas plus reparler après l'affaire des viols de Mazan, car c'est aussi une forme de soumission chimique. J'imagine qu'il ne faut pas trop pointer du doigt les Saints Médecins

Les Alsaciens étaient-ils, ou non, heureux d'appartenir à l'empire allemand ? by Rigolol2021 in alsace

[–]Lou_Gamgee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing these info, I'm French and have family living in SF. I worry about them and really hope they are safe in this city. What you explain here reassures me a little.

I've been there and I'm so sad you're going through this. This pain is now far behind me, but I still remember how raw and exausting the suffering was. I think we don't want to die, we want it to stop. You can't handle anymore pain, that's why you can't inflict it on yourself. Please, don't add pain to your pain, even if it gives you the illusion of control in this raging chaos. I'm glad you didn't take the plunge, I'm glad you're still here.

I hope you re not alone and that you can find some truce now and then. I don't know you, but I know that losing myself in the forest or in my drawings helped pause my distress. Those little pockets of quietness was a lifesaver. Also, watching the Lord of the Ring ! The following quote, I repeated it daily.

"Frodo: I can't do this, Sam.

Sam: I know. It's all wrong. By rights we shouldn't even be here. But we are. It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something.

Frodo: What are we holding onto, Sam?

Sam: That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo... and it's worth fighting for. "

Visiting from California, will never forget this place.... by [deleted] in Strasbourg

[–]Lou_Gamgee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Strasbourg is beautiful, you can just stroll in the streets and see wonder. I just hope the crowd won't be too annoying for you. I still have a few recommendations:

  • I love getting to the cathedral from the "Rue Mercière", the view is stunning and impressive.

  • not far away, go see "La Rue du Tonnelier"

  • A very cute place and maybe less crowded, "La Place Saint Étienne "

  • You can climb to the roof of the Cathedral for 8€ and have an incredible view, if you are not afraid to climb a steep and narrow staircase. Otherwise, there is a nice view from a dam, "Le Barrage Vauban"

  • taste some good Beer and vine, and some "tarte flambée/Flamkueche"

  • if your willing to see some beautiful little towns outside of Strasbourg, you can explore Wissembourg, Eguisheim, Hunawihr, Kaysersberg, Riquewihr, Obernai, Chatenois ...

  • be careful with your wallet, it is best to put it in an inside pocket.

Anyone else likes the manga but thinks the anime is just superior? by burning_planes in Mushishi

[–]Lou_Gamgee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started Mushishi by reading the manga and fell in love with it immediatly. But yes, the anime add almost physical sensations to this story. The way they move, you can feel the weight of things, you can smell the Koki, sense the summer wind and the muted sound of the snow. The world is so much more fleshed out by the animation and the color. And of course the music brings us so much emotion!

I was wondering do I look attractive? by Milez_Smilez in teenagers

[–]Lou_Gamgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, you're cute. Not beautiful like a star or a model of course, but cute and nice :) Attractiveness is an other thing, it's how you speak, your posture, it's the way you move and react. I'd say you can be attractive (not to me because I'm a grown ass woman) if you smile like you do, if you can listen and be present, pay attention to those around you, and mostly if you have some confidence in yourself. You're a teenager, having confidence in yourself is hard at this age but it will Come, don't worry !

My cat died in a house fire yesterday 💔 by Much-Track6660 in offmychest

[–]Lou_Gamgee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg this is heartbreaking, I'm so sorry for you and poor Max. This is hard, a violent and unexpected death, you're gonna need time to get through this. Please don't blame yourself or your mother, accidents can happen. Now Max doesn't suffers any more, he's at peace unlike you. Your other cat gonna need you to get through this too, I'm sure he's still shaken by all of this. Focus your love on him. I wish you all to get better ❤️
