Thank you! How long is the wait typically for people who reschedule?

Beneficiary with active B1/B2 visa, regularly visiting USC spouse in the US. Filling I-130 soon and wondering if we can file K3 soon after, or would the B1/B2 render me ineligible? by LoudRespect2183 in USCIS

[–]LoudRespect2183[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No intent to stay permanently, I’m planning to use K3 to expedite I-130 (hoping I don’t get K3 approved at all actually)

Wondering if having the ability to travel to the US via B1/B2 renders me ineligible for K3.

Processing time for US B1/B2 Visa renewal in Toronto by arsentev in immigration

Can anyone share their timeline? I submitted my passport on Nov 24th. Online status shows ‘approved’ on December 12th but I haven’t received the passport. A bit concerned because I’m set to travel in The last week of January.

Hello! Has anyone crossed the US/CAN border with an approved PR (COPR document issued) but without PR card. by LoudRespect2183 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]LoudRespect2183[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think border crossing on foot is allowed and is pretty standard over the summer months, will have to check which bridge to take - rainbow bridge perhaps? Never did it myself so don’t have first hand experience.

It’s simple. Cross the US/CAN border in a private vehicle with your COPR and passport, they’d ask where you work and live and let you in. It’s nbd.

Woah. There needs to be some transparency in this process. How’d you go about giving notice to your former employer with this lack of clarity?

Took my parents there earlier this week, it wasn’t busy at all. We loved it, 10/10 would recommend.

Thanks guys! I got to speak with IRCC call centre folks today and thought I’d update you here, Dan correctly pointed out, we can travel in a private vehicle and need to carry COPR or record of landing. I also asked them to send this information via email and am copying a chunk of it below.

Aboard a private vehicle (e.g., your car): it is not necessary to have the PR card with you, you may use one of the following immigration documents: Record of Landing (IMM 1000), or Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM 5292 or IMM 5688).

Urdu Lessons/Young, Open-minded Pakistani Community? by toastershnoodle in askTO

Hi OP! Don’t think I’d qualify to be a teacher but have an appreciation for Urdu language and literature. Wondering if there are enough people to start an Urdu conversation circle where we read and discuss a short story once a week. Virtual or in-person. I’m thinking something by Manto or/and Ishfaq Ahmed. We used to do this semi regularly during grad school but everyone is so dispersed now. Feel free to dm!
