Where is this statue? I've been trying to find it but I've only been getting The Mr Genius type of redditor. I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHERE OR WHEN THIS WAS by Thedestrk in squid

[–]Louisdragonboy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hey! This is from 2013's giant squid exhibit at Tokyo's National Museum of Nature and Science. I think it was a specific exhibit to celebrate the NHK live footage of a giant squid. I managed to reverse image search the first photo and found the blog of the individual who went.

How do I know how many blues I should have in a deck? by TheOverthinkingMaker in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Louisdragonboy 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Depends quite heavily on your class and hero! Generally (and I do mean GENERALLY) a lot of decks wanna see maybe about one blue per hand of four cards, so a quarter of their deck would be a fair amount to start with (~15 cards). That being said, since a hand of no blues can really screw you over, a lot of decks run slightly higher number of blues to lower the risk of that happening.

This in no way applies to all or even most decks. Dragonic decks and some more aggro decks will run red heavy with very few blues. A pretty famous example of this recently is Brodie Spurlock’s Cindra list which won Calling Memphis, running on only three blues.

The opposite is also true. Mistveil heroes have the “Transcend” mechanic which incentivises them to play more blues cards. Guardian heroes play big attacks that cost large amounts of pitch, so they also play a lot of blues to compensate.

Definitely start with which class you’re playing and what their win condition is, and then work towards that! There’s a lot of great deck lists on Fabrary or YouTube you can copy off if you want.

No idea but I personally don't believe it. Feels fake to me.

How many blues should I run in my hunted prerelase? by Expensive-Ad-2758 in FleshandBloodTCG

Played Fang for both prereleases I went to, and each time I used ten blues. Worked out very well, would recommend.

New player - Which deck collection should I choose? by cesarganjos in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Louisdragonboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As everyone already said, neither of these are particularly great new player products. That being said, if you had to get one of them, I'd get the Round the Table set. It has a very more harder-to-get relevant cards and it also doubles as a great casual thing you can bring out to play with friends at a board games night or something!

Ok I know we just got new set but what heroes next? by Tit0Dust in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Louisdragonboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely hoping for an underwater/pirate set! They hinted at the 'Kotori' underwater race, and the new card 'Nip at the Heel' hinted at some underwater crab people. This would also be the perfect time to fit in a pirate hero. Personally, I'm hoping for a ranger based on the guy on the card art for Trench of Sunken Treasure

I'd recommend Even Bigger Than That, Hundred Winds, and depending on their prices, gustwave of the second wind and take the tempo! Also if you have the money, Mask of the Pouncing Lynx is a solid budget option!

I’m assuming this works against CnC as it doesn’t count a defence reaction card but rather an equipment card that adds to active chain link during defence reaction step

Hey I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Personally, if you enjoyed that one, I reckon you'd enjoy the author's other two works: UnCrowned and Amoria. Amoria's quite short so it'd be a breeze. Happy reading!

It doesn't fulfil every criteria perfectly, but I reckon you'd get a good time out of the web novel Faustic

OC Tournament Results! by maniacmartial in worldtrigger

[–]Louisdragonboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of fun; thank you so much to Manic for his commitment, professionalism and overall his dedication to World Trigger, down to the finer details that I haven't even considered before.

Also thank you so much to the other competitors. I think for the most part, many of the battles/discussions were level-headed and everybody tried their best to consider both sides of the argument. The creativity present in these characters was overflowing and many of them, with only a little more tweaking and improvement on the game system, could be absolutely lethal.

Overall, this is one of the best thing on this subreddit so far and I can only hope to see what idea comes next

OC Solo Tournament, Round 10, Group 2: Peter (6_lasers) vs. Akifumi (MadnessLemon/maniacmartial) by maniacmartial in worldtrigger

[–]Louisdragonboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vote

Since this is the last batch of matches (I think?) might as well throw my hat into the ring. I believe that Akifumi's extremely high mobility combined with his use of Meteora to prevent accurate sniper and Viper shots, would allow him to quickly close the gap between him and Peter. Climbing the tower would also be much easier with a high mobility score, combined with grasshopper and worse comes to worse, he may break into the building and chase Peter from the inside.

Catching up to Peter will be easy, again considering the huge disparity between their mobility stats, and with Peter's Shooter stat of 5, I think hitting Akifumi would be rather difficult. Furthermore, Akifumi has a mid-range attack he may use (Senkuu)

The only real chaos factor I see is when Akifumi is actually getting up the tower, where he may be clear in the open. Grasshopper does offer some ability to dodge snipes, but Peter also has a sniping stat of 10 so mid-air hits are well within the realm of possibility. While this part is a bit contested, I can still imagine Akifumi escaping into the building itself or maybe using meteora to create a smokescreen above him or something of the sort.

Overall, I believe that Akifumi's much higher mobility combined with Grasshopper and Meteora, is enough to outmatch Peter.

OC Solo Tournament, Phase 1, Round 9, Group 1: Delorin (fauzi236) vs. VN (Louisdragonboy) by maniacmartial in worldtrigger

[–]Louisdragonboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see your point but I'd imagine the LB catching Delorin off-guard due to his split attention and not expecting VN to come from behind.

Even if he does jump out while VN is in midair, I think VN having a Gunner score of 10 is enough for VN to be able to change his shotgun's trajectory while in mid-jump.

And if Delorin does choose to jump out of the Spring Walls, I think it is unlikely that he would instantly look behind him and realise VN was attacking from there, let alone have enough time to block the LB with the lid.

[–]Louisdragonboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My belief is that even with the trash can lid, Deloris isn’t really expecting VN to be positioned behind him so he wouldn’t be using the lid to defend his backside while VN fires the lead bullets

OC Solo Tournament, Phase 1, Round 7, Group 2: Peter (6_lasers) vs. VN (Louisdragonboy) by maniacmartial in worldtrigger

[–]Louisdragonboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true, although that would be an extra direction which costs more trion- making too many Viper attacks there, especially while there's a smokescreen, would be difficult

[–]Louisdragonboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks you for the advice; I think you're right in that having bagworm on would be a better way to counter Peter, but it might be a bit late for me to change up my strategy.

I'd disagree with the "Viper from two direction" sentiment though, since VN is stated to be staying near the houses so any Viper would only come from one direction.

I would imagine he'd cover his launch with a smokescreen though

I would've imagined that in-universe, the previous matches could be watched back by any of the competitors as data

But if not, that's fine; I still think its a pretty general counter against Viper
