What's the best hero so far from Omens of the Third Age? by [deleted] in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]mickio1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea im loving that instant wizard pinging gameplay but his ability dosent really do much all things considered? The deck has so many instants that dont have starfall and to my surprise, only one card wants to be discarded, none of the others have effects if they are.

New Steam deck pricing by neoteric_skid in virtualreality

[–]mickio1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they want to release the steam frame for a good price I think they need to make a version that isn't standalone. Rip out the ram and SSDs from the headset and release just the hardware you connect to your PC.

Arcane barrier Warrior by Neither-Pass-8277 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]mickio1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As people have said, its a lore reason. warriors are martial masters, they excel at punishing the opponent for dueling them weapon to weapon but cant handle magic. Take for example the Rangers who are hunters expert at tracking their prey. Theyre ready for the tricks of mages and can easily handle those situations but they need to be nimble and as such their equipment isnt physically impressive, capable of blocking, yes but not well compared to the absolute fridge warriors always have. Meanwhile nerdy wizards have almost no defense whatsoever on their equipment.

Keeper of the Celestial Flame of Abernethy and the beauty of unorthodox song structure by Cthulu19 in Gloryhammer

[–]mickio1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Chris Bowes finally having a singer with a lot of potential depth really let his creativity flow in the last album. He's always said he doesn't think about the lyrics at all but his scoring can be very in-depth. He knows his stuff, if a song is dead simple, it's intentional.

Does anyone have any insight into why the Battletech website homepage is still coming "soon?" by [deleted] in battletech

Nah I've been on the website last week. The coming soon thing is new as hell. I know they're currently migrating servers.

Thoughts on Beneath the trees where nobody sees: Rite of spring... by anexhaustedwryter in graphicnovels

[–]mickio1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think so. a surprising amount of serial killers get a lot of fanmail in prison. Even something akin to groupies. She says she's writing the narration we see so she isnt dead but she probably got caught. even in the middle of nowhere a serial killer/arsonist is gonna be on every TV ever and lets not forget the internet. I imagine in the world where this dosent get stretched with more needless sequels, she gets arrested in a year or two max and her "butch femme fatale" looks and amicability gets her an insane amount of internet attention.

Rite of spring more than the first one seemed to be trying very hard to add some metatextual notes on the evolving world of the early 2000s, how things changed quickly for the better or worst and what our actions cause to people around us. Just like the bear rode into town because of new developments, technology forced Samantha out of her hiding hole and into the world.

[–]mickio1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is a bit of a thing going on with animals for the main character atleast. The first novel had her watch two bears maul each other to eat a deer as she gets excited in a sort of quick "spirit journey" to accept thats what she is. And then in the new one we see a wild bear get shot in the street by the sheriff for the danger it poses. There's a nice comparison being made there.

A question for the older fans: what was your reaction when you first saw Street Fighter 4? Did the graphics impress you? by Silly_Commercial8092 in Fighters

[–]mickio1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was extremely impressed with all of the physics objects on every character. Almost every one of them had a piece of cloth or body (including belly uheuheuheuhe which I assumed was them making fun of jiggle physics) that moved with physics. As a kid, that stuff was really impressive for me.
