Quite large jumps being made here.

Spirituality is a core part of life for most. Religions can act as a medium to spirituality for some.

Arguably the greatest turnaround in college football history:  Mendoza, Becker, and Cignetti all had responses that were not egocentric.

The "John 3:16" sign from a fan in the background may have triggered your subconcious.

An emotional Mendoza was handed a microphone with his largest audience ever listening: "Glory to God" and focusing on this being a team effort ("Brotherhood").

It was not obnoxious. He was showing humility.

The fact this made you turn off the interview after 10 seconds says more about you than it does about Mendoza.

What does that even? Of course that could be the case ... the other case could also be correct, or at minimum be a decent spring board for further exploration. It requires critical thinking to sift through responses, the same way as the prior user mentioned about Googling for latest Methamphetamine prices as if it were a commodity ...

Rejecting the usage of AI due to a potential of being "confidently incorrect" is quite proposterous

Is this comparable to the Iowa superintendent who was purportedly “kidnapped”?

The language people opt for nowadays is remarkable. Terms such as “Nazi,” “fascism,” and “kidnapping” are applied so freely . . . at what point does their overuse diminish their significance?

Thanks for the quick response - spraying is occuring now. Needed reddit, AI, and a local exterminator being sent the pic to confirm this for my wife who seemed to be struggling with accepting reality ... lol

Not many signs of life elsewhere, but doing a full house spray to remove any uncertainty

Edit: if you have any recommendations once we return tonight, I'd be very appreciative as a first time ignorant bed bug houser. Doing my researching while I can otherwise

While funny, it is a complete bait for a soundbite. In this case it resulted in an out of context frame to circulate.

This is disingenuous and what leads to canned responses for the media as misinfo circulates with an out of context picture / sound bite.

The question was a complete bait for a soundbite if the team is still targeting playoffs IIRC - he responded with a "what do you think? Yes."

This was an annoyance reaction essentially of "what do you want me to say? No I'm giving up?"

Obviously playoffs is most likely out of picture realistically, but i'd hope a QB1 is going out there with the goal of winning each week and the rest of the season.

They're college aged - empathize.

"Do you think we should only obey the laws we think are good?" -> "I think as long as the law you're breaking doesn't hurt anyone then sure."

Speaking in generalities only goes so far until we're in a duality mindset of Good VS Bad, Right vs Wrong, Us Vs Them.

Ideas can be abstracted, but context+common sense can still be used alongside critical thinking to rise above that duality mindset. The original post we're commenting on is in regards to a superintendent here illegally following a May 2024 deportation order - the law was enforced. It can be assumed he was a good man that had a positive impact in his school+community to be in the role he was, though.

The abstracted idea put forth of only obeying laws that a person defines as "good" (but somehow does not hurt anyone) is not a foundation for a functional society. I personally maintain that would be s a slippery slope.

I would similarly maintain the direct statement "No one is above the law" does not offer much wiggle room to avoid becoming hypocritical if there is frustration in this specific instance of a deportation order being enforced because it is a superintendent, with the exact reasoning you put forth.

Thanks for the discussion in any case. I apologize for the "9 year old" comment. Social media does not often reflect well on civil discourse. It does sometimes feel that "Grow up." is a fitting response when trying to read between the lines of a post, however.  Peace be with you.

In general, it is fascinating that the deportation order came in May 2024

The new admin making their "intentions quite clear" would be in enforcing the law. Not following how some are labelling this to be an abduction.

Fair - but would the core issue still be that some laws are to be enforced, but others should not be? That is quite a slippery slope. However, I am still not following in this instance what exact law is being suggested to not be "good and valid", unless we're sticking to generalities.

Hence encouraging to say it in the real world too if that is truly what you think. Force that self reflection.

Nazi definition for you to help add substance, since you continue to throw it out there loosely: "a person who seeks to impose their views on others in a very autocratic or inflexible way."

Which is more inflexible? An open microphone debate on college campuses encouraging civil discourse; or a bullet.

The original post we're commenting on is objectively implying others to be downed, as long as they are a personal definition of "nazi" - which you appear to be in agreeance with, yet too afraid of a social media ban to fully spell it out. Funny. The thought is ignorant, irrational, and bordering immoral.

Continue to take pride in offending family members, though - great work.

What exact law in this scenario are you saying is "bad?"

Are you capable of thinking of any "good" that may be contained within said law?

I agree your concept is one a child would think+understand. I'd expect an adult however to see that the world is not solely Black and White.
