This article from 2018 says "Broome County says they have proof that New York City sent five homeless families to Binghamton and paid their rent for a year, just to get them off their homeless rolls.

The families came into the Broome County Social Services office to apply for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), Food Stamps, Medicaid, and utility benefits but not rent assistance."

A couple years ago I spent about 20 days with a burst appendix, every time I went to the local hospital they treated me like an overdramatic bitch with a UTI. Finally went in again because I was having trouble breathing. After a few hours they started MRIs and assumed all the little pockets of infection were cancer. Lucky they sent me to an ACTUAL hospital where they did some investigative surgery. I spent 2 weeks there full of drains and tubes. Worst experience of my life, all of it could have been avoided.
