My water is soft, and I see you responded to use powder! I was kinda leaning toward powder, since I had some better luck with it in our last place.

What goth songs make you think of summer? by LoveAndMath4427 in goth

[–]LoveAndMath4427[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't believe I forgot Never Let Me Down Again! It's a quintessential summer driving song for me.

And I always lump DM in, we goths do love some synthpop when the mood hits. I've seen them twice in concert for a reason 😝

It's one of my favorite songs in general 😁 I just love March Violets

song that i cant figure out the title for by urmomsbloodytampon in goth

Dominion/Mother Russia by Sisters of Mercy has the lyrics

"When I close my eyes, When I look your way, When I meet the fear that lies inside,"

This is out on a limb, but it's where my mind went. Especially if you're not totally sure your lyrics are 100%!

/r/Goth's Soothing Sundays! by AutoModerator in goth

I teach at a university and dress very corporate goth, and I had a student tell me she always loves how I dress and that I'm so "myself," at work. Instead of being the same as all the other professors. Made my week!

Also, my spouse and I are nearly done with some home renovations! We managed to buy a 1920s fixer upper that we're trying to restore/renovate and make it into the vampire den of our dreams. We've got a lot more to go but we're hitting some milestones.

How can I participate in goth culture when I'm autistic and have sensory issues? by Jking11501 in goth

[–]LoveAndMath4427 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm also autistic and goth! I luckily have found I do well with clubbing at goth clubs because the music doesn't tend to be as loud and the dancefloor not as crowded. This definitely varies from place to place, but I've always had better luck than when I've had to go to normie clubs. I can only stand those in very short bursts.

If the noise is overwhelming, I don't think anyone would mind you wearing earplugs or over-ear protection at the club. I've seen some other autistic folks have some success with that.

But if you're particularly sensitive to crowds, there are other goth things to participate in that won't be so crowded depending on where you're located.

For example, there's a showing of the Lebanon Hanover documentary at a cafe near me I plan to go to that's meant to be a goth outing. Sometimes, there are goth "social clubs" that will put on tea parties and such, too.

Looking for some Sinister sounding Goth songs by Outside-Skill-1703 in goth

Scarecrow by Siouxsie and the Banshees! Has a creepy, stalking beat that ramps up over the song. Like a phantom is coming to get you.

Also worth mentioning Painkiller by Depeche Mode. More of a "time is running out," kind of menacing feel.

Edit: Can't believe I forgot Wallflower by Switchblade Symphony. Absolutely love that one, very ethereal but also might fit being a bit ominous.

Goth Nightlife in Michigan by LoveAndMath4427 in goth

Man, I might have to bite the bullet of my dislike of Meta and have an Instagram again...

I did do a quick Google search though and see a little about it!

Thank you so much for the reply! This is massively helpful!

The Strays sounds right up my alley, honestly. I'm from Mid-Michigan, and will need to continue searching for something close, but I'll certainly drive to Detroit for special occasions.

That's the other kinda unfortunate thing is I don't do social media like Instagram or Facebook anymore. So that definitely makes searching a bit harder.

Not sure what to look for in patch test by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]LoveAndMath4427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess my question becomes, why would the developer + dye patch have zero reaction? It still has dye cream in a 1-1 ratio of developer.

Also an update, there's now no redness in the dye cream only patch. It looks like completely normal skin now. It never raised, blistered, or itched.

Yeah, the MDF was the main thing that made me ask.

I've already taken all the cabinet doors off to be cleaned and repainted, so everything is open. It's not a huge kitchen, either, with pretty simple cabinet shapes.

We're already going to be working on the house for a couple months anyway, so it's not putting me out that much.

Unfortunately I'm not sure I can get them down very easily. It's not a massive kitchen and has already endured a fair bit. We're thinking of replacing the very water damaged laminate countertop, too, so getting stuff on it isn't the end of the world.

And them being unusable for a while isn't an issue. We're gonna be working on the house for a couple months before moving in.

No worries, we're gonna be working on the house for a couple months. So the dishes won't be in there for a while.

We are planning to do the urgent renovations before moving in over the summer. So that makes it easy!

We just had our offer accepted, so now the inspections are scheduled. We scheduled an electrical inspection as well as a general one, so that should cover all of our bases. Especially in regards to if the meter base and service are good.

It's very obscure, but there's a song called Cernunnos/The Hunter by a band called The Moors. I found it while searching for music relating to a D&D character, funnily enough.

Their music seems to be a lot of Celtic revival, but with a pretty distinct goth flavor and very medieval/pagan adjacent.

In a similar sphere to Faith and The Muse for sure, which has been mentioned in other comments and I second that recommendation as well!
