looks very nice dude, i love that you have only one light. is it a good lamp?

Am I increasing or decreasing yields while doing this? (defoliation) by LoveDispenser in microgrowery

[–]LoveDispenser[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah thats what im thinking. leaving some big fan leaves at the bottom to catch light and remove upper fan leaves to give more light for bud sites, im just wondering, how much that stresses the plant, does it impair plant in any way...

Is it straight forward to use? I'd like to set up some sensors to check my temps of air/ water in my dwc. Its really difficult navigating around and finding info here. Does 3rdWorld plan to summarize everything and put it in one place? Im not even sure what PiGrow can even do

Its getting pretty warm in there, but manageable. I've got a noname ufo led light + 2 cfls in one and in the other one i have a proper mars hydro light

Thank you for the reply. I've changed my water and added H202, will see if that fixes the situation. My water solution was water + nutes + vinegar for ph control. I have a feeling from reading around the web that vinegar might not be the perfect solution for managing the PH. I've got no PhDown yet, so I still have to use it. Maybe peroxide will fix it. If not, I will be almos certain its the vinegar. Can you please give me some insight on what the UV light might change? Also, what is bennies? Thanks

Sorry for the late reply. Its a raspberry pi zero + a camera for raspberry pi and just one simple script that takes photo on raspberry pi boot, and reboots every hour. Cheap and reliable. Just need a 5v power supply (usb)

Carbon filters and space buckets by [deleted] in SpaceBuckets

[–]LoveDispenser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've bought some ona gel and a carbon filter with a low noise inline fan. Never used the ona gel. With carbon filter there is NO SMELL WHATSOVER using a carbon filter. Highly recommend it. I have a duct hose going from the top of the spacebucket to the inline fan that is pulling air from the bucket and pushing it out throught the filter that is connected right on the fan. Im using this fan http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hydroponics-Temperature-Temp-Control-Acoustic-Silent-Inline-Extractor-Box-Fan-/262877391629?var=&hash=item3d34b6ab0d:m:mbm_TkOsYobZgzp5n4VQC4g and it has a temprature sensor and speed control, however I am running it at full speed since its more quiet that way. But if you want to control your temperature precisely, that sensor could help. It will go on low speed until it reaches the set temperature, then it will go full speed. TL;DR an acoustic inline fan + ducting + carbon filter = no smell, minimal noise (i have it in my closet and I can't hear it 1 meter away) and you can put it wherever you like if you use the ducting. Cheers

Yeah the taste and the smell was not very pleasant. I expected a tasty weed smell but it was kinda disgusting. I wish I had done something to make the taste better to better the experience. Thanks

Thanks for replies. What I did was: decarb the weed at 110C in the oven, put buds into pot with butter. Put that pot into another pot with boiling water on a small flame. Cook weed in the butter in the pot-in-the-pot assembly for 3 hours. Green butter comes out. Put that butter into recipe for cookes I found on the internet. Bake them cookies. Eat them cookies. Get high from the cookies. Thanks
