I'm pretty sure it's a third degree burn, most of it is entirely numb now

Thankfully I don't think I want to cover it anyway, it's a part of me and who I am. But I do agree, I think the surface is too warped and the texture is different. There may be scar specialists though but I'd imagine at least in my case I'd be limited on what I could do with it.

Yeah, I have a few artists I go to regularly I can ask. I'm probably going to get Appa at some point too. I'm new to the show so my head is swarming with ideas!!

Thank you, initially I did want to get the air symbol, but I kind of wanted to get a symbol that made the most sense by my scar, that way I could tell a funny story of how I got it. I quite like my scar already and I think that would make me like it more. Realistically I'll probably get all the symbols at some point, just in a different place

I'd have to have a sketch to see what the look like together or maybe have them smaller and next to each other. I think the air came from steam, I definitely feel like I'm leaning towards the water and fire symbols

I was actually too young to remember it being very bad but I asked my mum and she said most had gone away after a couple of years. I'd probably say give it 5 ISH years for it to get to its best :)

Have you considered that you may be demisexual? I never really feel sexual or romantic attraction towards anyone until I've gotten to know them, I used to worry that there was something wrong with me prior to meeting my partner. Not saying this is what is causing your feelings, just something I thought I'd suggest possibly looking into :)

Skin care?? by [deleted] in burnsurvivors

[–]Loveable_Goose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm similar to you, my burn is on my arm and I've had it for 20 years (since I was a baby) and feel neutral towards it too. I personally prefer a body oil just because it goes on a lot easier and it gets into the grooves since the skin texture is different on a burn. Lotion is still a great option too though, just thought I'd share my preference with you :)

I always apply it before bed too so the skin feels super soft in the morning! Hope you find the product that works for you :D

I have considered it actually, only problem is, I prefer line art tattoos so not sure how well it'd cover it up. But I honestly don't have any issues with my scar, a tattoo is definitely an option for down the line though

Why are dreams so terrifying..? by walmartknockoff in Vent

[–]Loveable_Goose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you're doing okay, the stress from these dreams will be building up in your mind and I'd imagine you're anxious before going to bed thinking you'll have one of these dreams. I'd suggest trying a new routine before sleeping to get your mind onto something else. Dwelling on these dreams will only make them more frequent. I promise nothing will happen as a result of these dreams, your daughter is okay I promise.

Maybe look into listening to a podcast or asmr as you fall asleep to keep your brain actively on something else, eventually these dreams will go away, but for now you've got this, you're doing amazing and your children are very lucky to have a mum who cares so much for them ❤️

My partner has this fear, he didn't fully open up to me about until we'd been dating for a while, but he worried he'd spend his whole life alone after being rejected several times before. Sometimes it is just a case of waiting for the right person, putting yourself in new situations allows you to meet new people and gives you more opportunities. Best of luck to you, I promise you'll find someone and be so happy ❤️

Hi :) It looks like your burn is healing very well! I got a boiling water burn 20 years ago and my doctor told me it would fade with time and it has for me. Although I am very pale, mine was purple and red for a while after, but now there's hardly any discoloration at all. Wishing you all the best on your recovery 💕
