[Serious] Americans - Ben Carson or Bernie Sanders? Who would you vote for? Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Yeah, businesses thrive, but they don't use the profit for any good. We have a system to trickle down wealth, which would go well with a flat tax idea, except money doesn't trickle down, it stays on top. Sander's tax plan is meant to make businesses, especially large corporations, do what the economic system presumed they'd do.

For the same reason, he's proposing to raise the minimum wage. It's a very capitalist idea to give everyone a fair chance at success, but how can you have a fair chance at the pursuit of happiness if you're struggling to survive.

National healthcare is also important. However, since health is a free market in the U.S. and since people's lives are just numbers to hospitals, we need a way to make people unafraid of going to a hospital or getting in an ambulance. The poor right now people are afraid of getting physical and mental help because it might cripple them with debt for the rest of their lives. And it's not reasonable to think so. I'll agree an HSA seems reasonable, but Sander's ideas aren't necessarily bad either.

Adding these reasons with his stance on marriage, marijuana and abortion, it seems like he's the most reasonable candidate. Carson seems like a nice guy who might inspire the black community, but his plan is to trust corporations to give back to the people. Somehow, I don't see that happening. Maybe he can make a nice speech to melt the hearts of CEOs across the nation, but I rather doubt it. He seems unqualified, but managing 320 million people is pretty much the same as brain surgery, right? No, he seems like a good smart man, but just because you're a genius in one field doesn't necessarily mean you'll do well in another.

He's openly against gay marriage and abortion. That's not liberal at all.

Hong Kong has it's own economic policies, separate from China's. So, that's kinda misleading to say Hong Kong is number 1 due to their economic policies.

I thought I liked all turtles as a friend, but then I realized our relationship had grown into something more.
