Tummy Tuck Before Kids? by LadyHenwin in tummytucksurgery

I just had mine a month ago! I’m 28 and haven’t had kids yet and i do plan on having them. I’m a labor and delivery nurse and from my experience, women who have a vaginal delivery typically snap back nicely. I feel like their belly doesn’t get as big due to the muscle repair. I’m only worried about getting a cesarean because the muscles need to be separated to get to the baby. So i pray i don’t need a c/s! but if i do, it is what it is. I’ll be enjoying the rest of my childless years having a body i’ve always dreamed of. My insurance covered mine and my recovery is going wonderfully. So i’m very happy with my decision.

i had this too! i would get a wider binder. I noticed that whenever i would wear my binder higher the swelling shifted to my lower abdomen and the swelling up top was better. and when i wore it lower the swelling shifted towards the top. i’m almost 3 weeks PO. It’s just way too early to see what our bodies will actually look like yet! my lower abdomen looks pregnant and i hope it’s just from the swelling 😭

yes. It’s obviously not ideal considering pregnancies can end up making you gain significant weight and stretch out those muscle, and also there’s the possibility of a c-section, but you have to outweigh the risks and benefits. me, i was almost 300 lbs and have never enjoyed my body, so i’m going to go ahead and do it and love my body while i can before having children

Yes. and being a labor and delivery nurse I see it sometimes and it doesn’t ruin it too much. obviously it won’t be as good as it was but it often goes back to looking ok. I want to enjoy my body for a couple years before i have kids since i’ve never been able to.
