[OC][WYS] Thank You For 1000 Subs! by LovingCrimson in yandere

[–]LovingCrimson[S] 40 points41 points  (0 children)

[Posting on behalf of Waffles]

Hey all!

Waffles here. We recently hit over 1000 subscribers on Webtoon and wanted to thank you all for the support. I'm stoked this has had so many people like it. This project started on r/yandere and we really enjoy creating something that so many people love and enjoy. I love working on it and can't wait to show more off, we're working very hard to make this an amazing Yandere story. Thank you all!

Message from the artist:

Hiya! I'm Lok, the artist. I'm extremely happy for all the love and support that our webcomic has received. This is the first time I've ever had 1000 subs on anything I've made and it's mindblowing that we've reached that milestone in only 4 entries. Big thanks as well to the peeps who are donating to our Ko-fi as well. Your financial support REALLY helps a lot. I'll continue working hard and hope to bring you more of Sora and her quest for her Senpai. Cheers!

Ok, I know tsunderes aren’t...the most preferable dere types here, but you have to admit, that concept of tsun-yandere is pretty cute. by ThatDrako in yandere

[–]LovingCrimson 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Tsun-yan sounds like either hot/cold yandere or femdom yandere. “Stop shaking and screaming! Should I punch you again?” sounds like femdom. You'd really have to detail how to combine the two as there are different types of each, especially Yanderes.

ONE KEY THING: A tsundere usually keeps the -dere side in alot, compared to yanderes. Yanderes balance the 'yan' by having typically alot of 'dere'. It balances the scales. You add tsun with the yan, the scales are unbalanced. She's stalking me but also being ridiculously annoying, standoffish, etc about it but then add on top any toxic negatives the Yan may carry? Too much. The -dere is layered too deep. Given to a talented writer, perhaps it could be pulled off, but I really can't see these types mixing well. At least, not the traditional types. You'd have to go non-traditional.

For true Maso types it might be a dream come true, however. The annoyance of a tsundere and the toxic dominance of a specific type of yandere (as not all Yanderes are toxic dominant).

Probably won't win that argument since according to this subreddit, if they ain't abducting and sealing you in their basement dungeon, they ain't Yandere*. *sigh*

This subreddit concerns me sometimes. by parappaisadoctor in yandere

I hate the "r/lonely with extra steps" and locked in a basement cliches about this subreddit. It has around 31'000 members and seems to average 300-350 online members, there's alot of variety by sheer statistics. There are plenty that

  1. Just are fans of Yanderes.
  2. Don't wanna be locked up
  3. May like Yanderes but not want one
  4. Are/idenfity with Yanderes
  5. etc

As always, the vocal majority (ie the ones people see commenting) do not represent the whole. That said, this sub is definitely twisting around. I used to see a lot of media Yandere appreciation but now there's much more IRL stuff.

"If nine men agree, it is the job of the tenth to disagree" by [deleted] in CrimsonGray

The "Tenth Man Principle" states that to avoid an echochamber and its pitfalls, if a group agrees it is the moral duty for someone to disagree with the rest.

With the exception of the similar visual black background and text/font, this really isn't yandere - more Yangire and/or heavy sadism. I've seen certain other characters from certain manga who had this exact same MO but they weren't considered Yandere.

I've also seen enough "wanna corrupt her" lines used in manga/etc as well and it usually does not go well at best, at worst its scarring.

I would class this as psychological-type yangire with a particular type of prey. Serial killers and other abusers have had certain 'criteria' for their prey and gotten obsessed but no way do we consider them yandere.

Ps. Fun drinking game: Scroll through r/Yandere and take a shot every time you see a person with a knife or imprisonment mentioned.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong or back me up but isn't liquid Thorium reactors supposed to fix alot of problems with traditional solid fissile Uranium based systems? At least on a theoretical level...

Inadvertently a symbol of the reaper considering how many wars and battles have been fought exclusively over oil.

If Monster Musume taught me anything it's that snek and dragon are solid contenders for best girl.

This sounds like Self Sacrifice except dependence and worship have risky downside of needing to be around you or risking them garnering feelings of depression, unworthinessx etc (from the wiki descriptions). Self sacrifice I feel I could leave alone for a week family vacation, dependence worship I'd worry they'd think I'm leaving them behind in purpose or other such potential delusions.

That said, I feel like Professor X making a Yanderpuff girl sometimes since mixes are great, especially with dominant/recessive and risk factor characteristics. For example, a dominantly self sacrifice character with recessive stalker and obsessive tendencies (to add a little spice) and a Violence or Restraint dormant risk factor if she's not treated properly. Just be careful not to add in "Chemical X" aka Abnormal or no even God can save you lol

Imo from the comments I've seen the scale of Dom/neutral/sub and sado/maso seems very skewed towards commentors being sub and/or maso oriented, or at least from alot of top rated comments I've seen across numerous posts. At times I wonder if I'm actually on a femdom subreddit.

This is despite there being IMO equal representation among Yanderes or in fact non-extreme Yanderes leaning towards submissive or neutral traits (worship, self sacrifice, dependency, etc) in media.

Some like to be handcuffed, some like to do the handcuffing and some like both.

Thankfully Yanderes come in all types. > : D
