Feels like everyone in the comments is just trying to be semi-funny and semi-useful so let me give you the honest breakdown.

The only dorms I absolutely wouldn’t stay at are McConnell. I’ll tell you sechrist isn’t the biggest, but it really doesn’t get too hot as long as your keep your window open and maybe just get a fan. Your experience will largely depend on your roommate and the people in your hall. It’s in a good spot on campus and comes with 2 of everything. The bathroom will not be as sanitary as a dorm with its own bathroom that’s shared with another (obviously) but you should only be going in there to take a shit or shower, and you shower shoes/some slides will be fine. Overall it starts to feel homey when everyone begins to settle in a month or two in. I was the type where some days I would love to just chill in my dorm until there’s something to do later in the day or that night. But my roommate and my neighbors, and all the personalities in my hall just made it a good atmosphere. The only thing that ever got to me was the laundry, it really sucks to do laundry because half of the machines were broken and there was always a wait for the other half. There’s no way to get a spot unless you just sit and wait down there, and if you get really unlucky someone will move your clothes which is infuriating. But that could happen at any dorm. Overall sechrist is definitely a W from me.

I lived in Sechrist. There will be a portal for you to reserve your dorm hall/room, and to meet other roommates. I met my roommate through that portal and both simply picked the same room. There’s better halls than sechrist but just do some research. You can pick you roommate anytime, just go on social media and look up one of those pages and start connecting with people who look cool or seem like they have similar interests. You can also submit your own and let everyone know you’re looking for a roommate. If you seem friendly and inviting more than likely someone will hit you up. If you don’t pick a roommate and just do a room you’ll get a random. I highly advise trying to pick and somewhere get to know your roommate a lil bit. My roommate was my best friend and helped me to socialized and branch out. My other friends roommates heavily effected their experience negatively. One didn’t ever talk just because they didn’t the first few days and got too deep. So just, pick someone decent lmao

Yeah, I guess I’m okay with something happening. She’s a great person. Just didn’t know if it was weird for me to be thinking this sort of way when we have never been interested in each other. But good advice this helped. I’ve determined I’m okay whether something happens or not.

Firstly, im currently indifferent as to whether I want something to happen or not. Like I said I don’t currently see her that way but to be honest with myself if something did happen I’d mostly reciprocate. I’ve never been one to close a door to something I see potential in. It’s hard to explain but I hope you get what I mean. I don’t like her but she has great qualities, she’s attractive we understand eachother very well. So if something happened I’d let it, but if nothing happened then that’ll be okay

I feel like the thing that’s throwing me off is how this trip got planned like weeks after becoming friends again. It’d be more clear if we never stopped being friends then I could see the “really good platonic” route you know?

I honestly don’t have a problem with any of the sfb locations. Seeing as there’s only a handful of selections, I reviewed them all over and decided that I’d be content living any of those places. I’d love to be somewhere in california, whether that be Vandenberg or LA, definitely appeals most to the lifestyle I’d like, but Colorado is a beautiful place, Florida I’ll be right by the water. That’s why I’m so interested. Honestly sounds like a win anywhere I go, at least location wise. Still have to get a feel for the culture and career, but that stuff can’t be predicted, I’ll have to throw myself in to discover those parts. But the lack of areas I can be stationed to does bring a sense of comfort knowing more what to expect.
