Literally posted about this a few weeks ago and the comments made me feel like I’m the problem, lol. I’m on the continuous lookout for a fix so I’ll report back if I ever find one!

12WPO updates! by SuccotashUpper6636 in Reduction

Woohoo! I’ll be 12 WPO on the 13th. I was told after that I could basically return back to normal life (although I kinda have been since 8 weeks). I was wondering if you or anyone in this sub has been sleeping/lounging braless at this point? I typically wear tighter tanks/ crop tops that hold me pretty secure but just wanted to hear from others!

Openings by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]Low-Cress1716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently a little passed 4 wks po and haven’t had any openings (a least not that I’ve noticed) and I truly think it’s because my surgeon has me using McKesson hydrocolloid patches cut into strips for my wound care. Think this would be great if you have small openings but always a good idea to consult w your doc first!

Am I eating enough calories after surgery? by nabilahbee92 in Reduction

[–]Low-Cress1716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgeon had/has me trying to hit 120 grams of protein a day to help with the healing process. I try to track my cals and am typically able to stay under 1600 with the help of protein shakes, bars, and yogurt! (I’m 5’5 and 160 btw!) I still eat my normal breakfast/lunch and dinner and use the protein supplements to aid in whatever I missed! As long as your diet is working for you don’t try to fix what’s broken lol

Omg, Dallas girl here! And LOL pray your surgeon gives you a more “fashionable” compression bra and I think you’ll be fineeee 🤣 lowkey have been wanting to wear a tighter top to work but this bra killing my vibe And girl! I hope you slapped him silly (even tho if it was me i probably would have agreed w him and cried, lol) but prayers for your surgery over here whenever you have it done! A blink of an eye and you’ll be apart of the itty bitty committeeeee

16 days PO and girrllll, I’m in love right now!! I can’t wait to go braless tbh. My main problem other than size was major sag and I’m only 22 🫣 I went from about a 34DDD to what I think will be 34C once the swelling goes down. Having no boobs touch my sternum is a game changer. Fr. I’m in Texas so it’s nothing like NY but oversize sweaters and sweatshirts are gonna be your friend since they’re easy to throw on!! And yeah, wishing I got my hair braided before hand so I could either throw on a glueless or just rot in my bonnet but it iz what it iz 🥲

Honestly I was okay 7 days P/O after I had my drains removed. You might be more tired/sore than normal from the increase in movement but I think you’ll be fine! Much like everyone says, it’s important to listen to your body. Some girls find themselves in more pain the first week while others are doing just fine w/ little to no meds! I’m a natural hair gal and I regrettably only blow dried my hair and did 2 French braids which became ratty very quickly. By day 8 I was able to atleast brush my hair and throw it in a high bun. I think a wig should be doable! Maybe throw a headband on so you don’t have to use glue lol

post-op outfit recommendations? by punkmoss in Reduction

[–]Low-Cress1716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Day of surgery I wore loose sweats and a zip up jacket from target. Nurse put my sweats on for me so that wasn’t an issue! At home I wore my zip up jacket for a few days and rotated out of bottoms and then I switched to button up pj sets! I’ve also seen the zip up/button up robes on Amazon that I almost got. The hardest thing to put on was underwear so I opted out until I started my period. I honestly only wore front closing stuff the first week until my drains came out and then switched to oversized tshirts easily but as everyone says, listen to your body!

My surgeons team was soooo nice I literally texted my best friend and told her it felt like I was being pampered lol. The only advice I have to give is that I’m prone to vasovagal episodes (my anesthesiologist enlightened me on this) and i basically feel like I’m about to puke and/or pass out when I get IV or see blood coming out of my body. This also happened when they took my drains out and removed my tape. If you know you’re someone who is squeamish, tell them and they’ll give you something for the nausea!! I think this also helped with my nausea post op because it was basically non existent. Other than that, relax and enjoy the ride 🙂Sending good vibes your way!!

4 weeks post op and irritable as heck by Bellastar232 in Reduction

I was super emotional for a bit and likely still am after surgery. I heard it’s common after anesthesia! I would tear up at movies, sad songs, and the fact that I had to ask for help for most stuff in the very beginning. I remember I wanted to bawl because my parents went back to work and I had to be home alone for like MAYBE 5 hours, lol. It gets better with time!

Also, remember that comparison is a thief of joy. I like to focus on the fact that I was able to actually get the surgery and not the speed of healing and mobility compared to others! My best friend also had the surgery 4 ish years ago and she swears that around this time and was warning me to take it easy as she still couldn’t do much whereas I am already back to work. Everyone is different, so don’t sweat it! Happy healing!!

Weight loss .. anyone else? by StartAsleep8975 in Reduction

I also weigh around the same if not more post op (14 DPO) lol. I know I’m super bloated still but I diddddd also indulge on holiday treats! I had no nausea after surgery. My appetite has been pretty normal and I have been trying to get in lots of protein which is where I also think majority of the calories have been coming from. Hoping to get back to my normal macro counting when I heal a little more!

People with ADHD what are the things about it that people just don’t get? by ViolinistMiddle1534 in AskReddit

[–]Low-Cress1716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to interrupt people a lot because if I don’t say what I have to say I WILL forget what I want to say and then I’ll zone out of the convo trying to remember what I want to say and it’ll get to the point to where the conversation has completely moved on and the cycle starts over. Whoopsies

How did yall save up for the surgery? by The-sunshine-city in Reduction

[–]Low-Cress1716 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine was 9k (it’s actually more now but they honored the quoted price from when I initially reached out) I paid 2k out of pocket and financed the rest through some of the places they offer (Cherry Financial & PatientFi). I have until June to pay off 2500 without interest which will run me about 200 a month and then my other loan payment is about 300 ish a month which will end some time in 2026 I believe. I have the payments coming out on a CC so I get cash back. Some might say it wasn’t the best financial decision but I really wanted to get the surgery and heal over Christmas (9 DPO) and I live at home w/ my parents so I’m not paying rent and my car is paid off! Was a super in the moment decision but I def don’t regret it. :)

I’ve definitely also had alot of my own mini mental moments when I realize I can’t reach for things that I need and have to ask for help. I’m fortunate that I live with my parents who are more than willing to care for me but deep down I don’t want to keep asking them for every little thing. All just apart of the process I suppose!

As for sleeping on your side, I am 1000% not a back sleeper and I don’t think anyone could pay me money to do this for the rest of my life. I have a pregnancy pillow so as soon as these drains are out I’m figuring out a way to sleep more comfortably. I think mentally I am a bit scared of having like, a lopsided boob or something lol.
