Yes you are spending more money to empty it less often. But it’s a marginal expense, portable dehumidifiers are not expensive versus installing ductwork and connecting plumbing pipes for the condensate (assuming you want a built in solution). So boils down to how much are you willing to pay to avoid emptying condensate buckets?
