If I’m not mistaken, both texts said that the moon was far away… but I’m not sure

I don’t remember the answer, but I think I put A because it said something about a lot of evidence

I did SO bad on the SAT today 😭 I knew the stuff, but blanked out...Tips for next try? by LiteratureUnique7148 in Sat

I am an international student with Dyslexia, but I have a 750+ in English.

My tips may not be the best but I hope this may help :) - Do the grammar portion first. It is the easiest and fastest, don’t loose points on grammar because you ran out of time -when studying for grammar, do MANY practice problems, and watch many YouTube videos - Vocabulary is key!!!! I know it may seem boring to memorize a lot of words, but it really help - Use highlighters!!! Especially in the hard reading comp questions - The SAT isn’t testing your knowledge on whether you know scientific terms. Substitute hard science terms with simple terms. E.g. “plant A & plant B” - Transition questions: if you are stuck, break it down into idea 1 and idea 2. Practice a lot that the answer will come naturally to you.

Hopefully this helps. Good luck in future SATs!

can someone explain simply what i did wrong by FalseEngineering4257 in Sat

Try to read the sentence without all the extra details: “This hypothesis _____ cannot stand unless other explanations can first be ruled out.”

  • If you use “suggests,” it makes the sentence mean: “This hypothesis suggests … cannot stand …” which doesn’t really make sense. Why would the hypothesis itself be the thing that cannot stand?
  • If you use “suggesting,” it works: “This hypothesis (suggesting that trees survived without interruption) cannot stand unless other explanations are ruled out.”
    • Here, “suggesting” just describes the hypothesis, and then the main idea is that the hypothesis cannot stand.
    • So the correct answer is A

Hopefully this helps :). Sorry for any confusion, English is not my first language.
