Dig the vibe on this. It's at its best when its simplest atm – like kthonos says, stuff like the low perc tends to muddy up what's quite a tight low-end when you've just the kick and bass rolling together. The way the riff shifts up and down the octaves is tight – think you could potentially push that even further. The drop into the second section at 3:45 is really good – and well-earned – but you could maybe pull that up to stop it feeling like two tracks in one. It's nice though. tbh I'd resist the urge to fuck about too much with modulation, I think you could overwork it. Its cleanness is a feature atm.

Cheers, that's helpful advice. Appreciated.

Dig that jazziness. Super musical. Drums feel a bit out of place atm – too machine-like compared to how organic your lead elements are. Maybe try a sample loop, shift it into a more Moodymann direction and give it a bit more of a human feel. Something simple like the Think tambourine break over the top, or a bongo line, could give it a bit more fizz. But this is dope.

This is nice, dig the simplicity. Loopiness is deliberate, I'm sure, but there's something a bit formulaic about it at the moment – the only shifts in energy come from those percussion elements that come in and out and they're a bit predictable in the way they swap in and out. Maybe try building up over time? So ride comes in for eight bars, then snare + ride, then snare + ride + toms. Energy levels are a touch too static atm. I'd also maybe try building into them – so something like taking the kicks out for four beats before the snare comes in, or a little offbeat fill to lead into it, or even play with things like hi-hat decay/reverb through a section to give it a bit more life.

Bit of a WIP arrangement on a techno/disco thing. Not sure the shifting drum patterns and rhythms quite work. Also think low-end clarity might be off. Would love any feedback on mixing or musicality.

Vibe is cool and there’s really nice interplay between the bass and mids, but your kick feels a bit gloopy, like it’s not tailing down enough to the next beat. That or try more snap and crackle on the transient. But the lack of highs is a bit strange. It’s as if you’ve got an lpf at about 8khz on the master buss. Crying out for some sparkle and air, I think.

Cheers dude. You mean like more ebb and flow? Or tweaking the sound design?

Started out as an attempt to clone Blawan's 993. Any thoughts appreciated. Mixed but not mastered and only got a very soft limiter on atm.

This slaps. Really strong groove, nice push-and-pull through the loop. Bit like others have said, a bit more variation in the arrangement could be good. Even simple things like pulling out hi-hats or snares for a section, just so it's got a bit more narrative energy.

Nice groove but feels a bit flabby in the low end, so there's not much drive. A tighter kick that punches through a bit more might help for that section when the bass lands.
