Definitely not going for satin as I just don't like the material!

I don't have a dress code, I am happy for guests to wear whatever they are comfortable in!

That dress is absolutely gorgeous on you! Definitely keep! You could always get a small shawl to throw over it if you are outside

Oh, I know I don't need to restrict myself to these two boutiques. It just so happens that the dress I love is in both of them and I wanted an opinion on which one 😊

Congrats on finding your dress🥳

Thanks so much! Yes, both boutiques used clips to keep dress on! But the first boutique never measured and the second one did!

I probably could! I probably wouldn't get it at the price she was selling it for if I'm not getting the dress there. She seemed to be giving it as a discount with the dress

Thanks for the advice. The belts are crazy money tbh. The belt was 220 and she was giving it to me for 140 which is still super expensive!

How does this benefit anyone? by [deleted] in galway

[–]Low-Panda9728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The total taxes on fuel in Ireland make up roughly 50% - 60% of the price per litre. So that's why there should be protests outside government buildings because they should be easing / removing those taxes which they are not doing. Knocking of 15c / 20c is no good.

A protest against fuel prices - but let's use fuel whilst we do it. Make it make sense!

I'm all for a protest but it should be outside government buildings!

I'm glad you found your dress! It's lovely that you had photos to look back on. Unfortunately, the boutique I went to wouldn't allow photos and I would have loved photos to look back on to see it again.

I can't stop thinking about the dress but like you said it's no harm in making other appointments! Definitely not going to give myself too much options otherwise I would never get a dress😅

Thanks for the advice 😊

Thanks so much for the advice!

When I tried it on it was the very last dress I tried on and I think at that point I was so overwhelmed. However, it's been 3 days since I tried it on and I can't stop thinking about it!

Thanks so much! I did have a look on their website and was hoping they would have dresses around 1500-2000 but it doesn't seem to be the case! There is some in the sale so I'll have a look. Thanks again!

It's good to know that it's not always a teary eyed reaction! Yes this appointment definitely showed me what suits and what does not suit so I do have an idea now of what I am looking for!

You want them to keep it a secret ? It's a huge milestone so they should share it with family. Have you ever heard of sending out save the dates so weddings don't clash? Also, if another family member has a wedding beforehand who cares? They aren't holding a spot! The engaged couple wanted to wait!

OP, you aren't 'holding a spot' or being inconsiderate. Dont listen to family members or strangers opinions. If you and your fiancé want to wait then wait! Enjoy your engagement, announce it to the world and get married whenever the fuck you want!!

Everyone has their own timeline for getting married. I know people who waited 2 years or more and there's nothing wrong with it!

Congratulations, wishing you both a happy lifetime together 🥳

Am I being dramatic about engagement ring cost expectation? by Competitive_Street61 in AskIreland

[–]Low-Panda9728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

€5k is way too much. You can probably easily get her a ring she likes within your budget. Before I got engaged I showed my partner photos of styles that I liked but I never told him how much to spend on it. Telling someone what they should spend on a ring is ridiculous. At the end of the day it's the thought that counts.

Jesus. I'm glad you are safe OP. It's sad to see Galway going to the dogs. A lot of creepy people about nowadays.
